Village Enforces Boat, Camper Parking Ordinance i
Piske, Scahill, Wesemann Go To Girls State
Under the provisions of the Village of Huntley Zoning Ordinance adopted July 17, 1989, the parking of any recreational vehicle such as boats, snowmobiles, recreational campers, recreational motor homes, travel trailers, vehicles that are identified under state statutes that exceed 8,000 lbs. or any trailers in association with the above mentioned is strictly prohibited on residential
property.
Exception to this is any of the above vehicles stored and concealed within an approved structure.
Be advised that as of May 16th of 1992, the Village intends to enforce this provision of its ordinance.
Any clarification or concerns can be addressed by contacting Butch Ehrke, Building Inspector, at the Village Hall, 669-2341.
Board Of Education Meets
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley Consolidated Schools, Huntley, IL, was held in the Central Office Building on March 23, 1992 at 7:S0pm.
The meeting was called to order by the President at 7:32pm. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Ms. Ahrens, Mrs. McDonald, Mr. Crabill, Mr. Heavey, Mr. Wright. Absent: Mr. Greve, Mr. Bauman. All present joined in the pledge to the flag.
1. Mr. Crabill moved, Ms.    ^ Ahrens 2nd to appprove the minutes of the Feb. 20 regular meeting as written. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried.
2. Mr. Crabill moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve the minutes of the Feb. 20 executive session. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried.
Mr. Bauman entered the meeting at 7:39pm.
3. Mr. Bauman moved, Mr. Heavey 2nd to approve the sununer building projects. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried.
4. Mr. Wright moved, Mr. Bauman 2nd to accept of lowest bidder, Joseph Frett ii Sons, for the remodeling of the HS/GS. Yeas: Wright, Bauman, Ahrens, McDonald, Crabill, Heavey. Nays: none. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried.
5. Mr. Heavey moved, Mr. Bauman 2nd to approve permission to receive cafeteria equipment bids. 6
yeas, 0 nays; motion carried.
6. Mrs. McDon^d moved, Mr. Heavey 2nd to approve permission to receive custodial supplies bids. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried.
7. Mr. Crabill moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve permission to receive light bulbs bids. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried.
8. Ms. Ahrens moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve permission to receive duplicator paper bids. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried.
9. Mr. Heavey moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve payment of monthly agenda of bills and imprest. Education - $36,733.25; OBM - $20,501.32; Transportation - $59,162.14. Yeas: Heavey, McDonald, Ahrens, Crabill, Bauman, Wright. Nays: none. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried.
10. Mr. Crabill moved, Ms. Ahrens 2nd to approve the transfer of activity funds. $301.59 from #301 to #307; $301.59 from #301 to #306; $351.89 from #301 to #305; $201.06 from #301 to #304; $251.32 from #301 to #303; $50.26 from #301 to #319; $50.26 from #301 to #318; $113.50 from #327 to #301; $126.47 from #323 to #301. 6 yeas, 0 nays; motion carried.

Penny Piske
Penny Piske, Jennifer Scabill, and Tina Wesemann have been chosen by the Huntley American Legion Auxiliary to attend lUini Girls State this summer.
The 52nd session of lUini Girls State sponsored by American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Illinois, will be held June 14-20th, at Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Five hundred seventy-two girls from various communities throughout the State will attend.

mythical state patterned after the state of Illinois which follows Illinois governmental procedure as closely as possible.
The girls have their own city, county and state governments. They will receive knowledge of our two-party system - at IGS they have two fictious political parties. They will caucus, have Primary elections, a Convention and General elections.
They will elect city, county and state officials. They will learn the duties of various

public offices - their functions, limitations and powers. They will have their own legislature where they will introduce, debate and make their own bills. They will regulate their own cities, have a police force and conduct courts of law. Bach girl has a chance to learn for herself that her government is just what she makes it. She learns the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of American citizenship.
Penny Piske
I'll be seventeen in the beginning of May, and am a junior attending Huntley High School. I've lived in Huntley for the majority of my life.
My parents are Charles and Cynthia Piske. I have two younger twin sisters. Amy and Amanda.
My extracurricular activities include being President of the Junior Class, a member of the Student Council and the National Honor Society. I enjoy playing volleyball and basketball. In my leisure time I like to read or spend time with my friends.
In the future I plan to go to Augustana or DePaul College and major in Accounting.
Jennifer Scahill
Hi, my name is Jennifer Scahill. I consider it a privilege to be attending Girls State in June. I hope to
gain knowledge that I can apply in college as I'm working for my degree in Pre-Law.
As far as college goes, I've not yet decided where I will attend. Right now I'm looking at Milliken University and the University of Colorado.
In my spare time I enjoy cheerleading, and performing with the Poms Squad at our school. Along with my extracurricular activities, I enjoy choreographing dances for my personal benefit and for the PomPon Squad.
Once again, I am looking .forward to attending Girls State with Penny and Tina, and I'd like to thank May Chesak for giving me this opportunity.
Tina Wesemann
My name is Tina J. Wesemann, age 17 and a junior at Huntley High School. I am the daughter of Randall and Janet Wesemann.
My father farms and my mother is a nurse at Good Shepard Hospital in Barrington.
I am a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church of Huntley. I serve as an usher when I csm.
I am a member of the Huntley High School FFA and serve as the secretary. I am also the secretary of the Junior Class. I am a member of the Prom Committee. I was a cheerleader this year and work on the school newspaper. I am the Vice President of the Huntley Harvestors 4-H Club and have been an active niember for 9 years.
My hobbies include raising and caring for my show animals, sewing, cooking and flower arranging. I also work at Tom's Vegetable Market, babysit and I am a volunteer at Good Shepard Hospital in Barrington.
My future plans include attending a local Junior College, working part time and I want a career working with people.
