Meet The Candidates Night Well Attended
Hllist)oro Cove Holds Easter Egg Hunt

Mr. Tom Jurs & Mr. Thomas Baker acted as M.C.s, introducing candidates and fielding questions, at the "Meet The Candidates Night."
On April 7th the Chamber of Commerce hosted a "Meet the Candidates Night" at the Huntley Elementary School at 7:00pm to better acquaint the voting public with all the candidates. Tom Jurs and Thomas Baker were the MC's for the evening.
Village President Jim Dhamer was the first to speak, after which candidates Jim Greve and Terry Hoeft gave their speeches. Next in line were the candidates for Village Trustee.
The attendants thought up questions and wrote them on a card to be asked of the candidates. They were pulled from a box and each candidate

answered them to the best of their ability. Mr. Jurs and Mr. Baker read the questions first and any off key ones were not asked. .  A few of the questions asked of the candidates for President were: Are you happy with the Prime deal? Do you agree to giving 50% back to TIF? Have any of you been employed by a local govern¬ ment agency? How Would you control/change the way the Village spends the money? Questions asked of candidates for Trustee were: When will water quality be improved? How do you propose to enforce current codes? What is your position on future land annexation? How do you plan to get up to speed on where the Board is?
The candidates did a very good job at presenting them¬ selves.
Mr. Baker thanked everyone who came and participated.
The 2nd annual Hillsboro Cove Easter Egg Hunt was held on April 4th. Open house was at the Kabbe residence afterwards with a pinata and refreshments. Hillsboro Cove Association plans monthly neighbor¬ hood functions. Dick Enstrom Retires As Grafton Township Cleric
Dick Enstrom retires as Grafton Township Clerk

Dick Enstrom, 71, is retiring from his position as Grafton Township Clerk this April.
Enstrom was elected to Township Clerk in 1957. Enstrom says he has seen many changes in township govern¬ ment throughout his 86 years of service to Grafton. In addition, he served for 25 years as the Village Clerk of Huntley.
The life-long resident of Grafton Township served 3 1/2
years in the Marines in World War II. He is a retired carpenter, life member of the Huntley American Legion and s long-time member of the First Congregational Church of Huntley.
Enstrom has been married to his wife, Wanda, for 48 years. He has two children, Dennis of Marengo and Julie Olson of Huntley. Also, Enstrom has 2 grandchildren and 1 "grand dog."
