-I
Above Jason & Nicole Walker, Erin Wulf & Bryan Holder enjoy playing "air hockey" at ETC (Extended Time for Children). The game is one that was purchased from DFC'i donation to the program. The Park District sponsors the program before and after school for children of working parents. For more information, call 669-3180.
Left are Jennifer Maynard and her dad. Bill, enjoying Seedling School's "Dad ii Me Night. On Jan. 22, the 3 year olds brought their dads and on Jan. 24 the 4 year olds brought theirs.
'Bunny Cards" Wanted For Persian Gulf Troops
Coldwell Banker of Wonder Lake is offering Huntley another chance to send greetings to our Desert Storm troops in Saudi Arabia. They are sponsoring a pick up box in the Huntley High School office for greeting cards for the troops.
Because of the religious differences the greeting
cards are called "Bunny" cards instead of "Easter" cards. Please DO NOT send any religious cards.
Drop your cards off in the box at Huntley High School no later than 9:00 am, March 8. Perhaps you will make a new friend in a far away county. No postage is necessary.
Address your cards to: Any U.S. Service Person Operation Desert Storm APO New York, N.Y. 09848-0006
Sherry Schrock, who's son Kevin is currently serving in Saudi Arabia, has volunteered to pick up the cards from the high school and deliver them to be mailed.
Huntley Soldier Gc
By Tracey Schwartz
In the ongoing flow of
information, we want to
include another local in our
list of Huntley soldiers in
the Persian Gulf.
Huntley High graduate Ken
Pearson is serving in the
101st Airborn Division in
Operation Desert Storm.
Pearson shipped to Saudi
Arabia on January 5th after *
transferring from the
National Guard to full-time
military service. He is part
of a two-man anti-tank team
called a "dragon", which uses |
portable, disposable missiles
in ground combat. Pearson grew up in Union
and graduated from Huntley High School in 1989. His parents are Jane Henning of Union and Robert Pearson of Elgin. He is the grandson of John Beltz, Square Barn Road,
a life-long resident of Huntley. Pearson's family encourages
friends and local residents to write to their son.
