Use 911 For Police Emergencies
The Huntley Police Department reminds residents that the "911" emergency number should also be used for police emergencies.
Huntley Police Enforce Village Stickers June 1	
The Huntley Police Department will begin on June 1, 1992, enforcing the Huntley Village ordinance requiring Village Stickers on all resident vehicles. Stickers are still available at the Village Hall.
Huntley Hosts Annual Spring Clean-Up	
The Village of Huntley will be having their annual clean up dumpsters from May 26 through May 31 at the Public Works Building on Donald Dr. No yard refuse, motor oil, paint or toxic waste material.

Amy Rosenthal Crowned Miss Huntley

Amy Rosenthal, 17, was crowned 1992 Miss Huntley at last Sunday's pageant in the Deicke Recreation Center.
Rosenthal competed with Shannon Raby, 18, who was named 1st Runner-up. Melissa Peterson who was registered for the contest, did not compete.
Both women modeled formal and sportswear for two judges, Glenda Stewart, owner of Glenda Stewart Modeling ic Social Development School; and Maragaret Szlachta, Treasurer for the McHenry County Fair Board. Both judges serve on the Miss McHenry County pageant committee. In addition, Rosenthal described what the word, shopping, meant to her and Raby described the word, education, for the audience.
1991 Miss Huntley Carie Bein passed on her crown as well as her responsiblities as Miss
Huntley, to Rosenthal at the pageant. Rosenthal will now compete in the Miss McHenry County Pageant held at the McHenry County Fair in early August. In addition, she will preside over the Town Picnic and she will receive $100 from the Huntley Lioness.
Rosenthal, daughter of Connie Mychko and James Rosenthal, is an active senior student at Huntley High School. Her extracurricular activities include Student Council and Senior Class President, band, Colorguard, cheerleading, pom-pons, FFA, Softball and Operation Snowball.After a summer of working at Connie Shoes and Racing Rapids, the 5'7" brunette plans to attend Western Illinois University and study international business.
Huntley American Legion Annouces Memorial Day Schedule Of Events
Huntley American Legion Post 673 has announced the schedule of events in celebration of Memorial Day, May 25, 1992.
The Memorial Day Parade in Union is scheduled to begin at 9:00am.
Huntley's annual parade begins assembling at the Village Hall at 10:30am. The parade begins at approximately 10:45am, through the Village Square and on to the Huntley Cemetery. Participants in the parade at press time are: Huntley Police, Huntley Fire, various dignitaries, American Legion ic V.F.W., Legion Auxiliary, Lions Club, Jaycee's, High School Band, Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Little League, other participants and Huntley Rescue Squad.
Ceremonies at the cemetery are scheduled to begin at approximately 11:00am. Herb Glissendorf begins with the introduction followed by an invocation by Rev. Woodruff. The Girl Scouts place the wreath and the traditional Flander's Field will be read with May Chesak delivering the Response. Huntley High School's Band, under the direction of E.J. Kriz, will perform the National Anthem, followed by The American Legion Firing Squard. Cliff and Brian Turner will perform Taps. Rev. Woodruff offers the final Benediction. Everyone is invited back to the Legion Hall for refreshments.
The Legion also plans a short ceremony at the Harmony Cemetery, to begin at 1:00pm.
Huntley VFW, Girl Scouts Place Flags On Veteran Graves .
The Huntley VFW Post 10780 is sponsoring flags on the grave of veterans in Huntley cemetery. Senior Vice Commander Joseph R. Wojdyla will assist in giving flags
to the Huntley Girl Scouts. Forty girl scouts will place approximately thirty flags on the veterans' graves in honor of Memorial Day.
Amy Rosenthal was crowned 1992 Miss Huntley at the pageant last Sunday at Deicke Park.
