Middle row; Alison Endyk, Chandra Bakley, Lisa Ravagnie, Kellie Reynolds, Molly Oldham, Rebecca Barreto and Bob Leis. Front row; Tim Hoeft, Karine Wych, Lisa Seeman and Kim Morish. Annual Science Fair Held At Huntley Grade School By Barb Schmidt From the start of their science projects in mid fall of 1993 to the individual experimentation to the writing and editing of their reports,...at long last, Huntley Jr. High 8th grade students presented their science projects at the school's annual Science Fair on March 8, 1994. On this date the students had their individual projects judged, then viewed by the public. Each student who participated in the Science Fair did an excellent job on his/her individual project, but 13 projects can go onto the Regional Science Fair in DeKalb on April 9, 1994. Special congratulations, for those students going to DeKalb for further competi¬ tion: 1. Katie Holtz - Paper Pulps; 2. Karina Wych - Wood Sealants; 3. Chandra Bakley and Meghan Borhart - Hydroponics; 4. Scott Stier - Aerodynamic Auto Design; 5. Bob Leis and Jeff Essig - Hamsters; 6. Kellie Reynolds and Lisa Seemann - Flexibility; 7. Becky Weber and Lisa Ravagnie - Audio-Visual Learning; 8. Molly Oldham - Bird Preferences; 9. Tim Hoeft - Concrete Durability; 10. Katherine Hallenbeck - Wood Preservatives; 11. Rebecca Barreto and Kim Morish - Hemispheres; 12. Denise Archambeault - Cat Behavior; 13. Alison Endyk - Optical Illusions. Thanks go out to all who helped the students iri the making of their science fair projects! A big thank you goes to tl)e 8th grade teaching team for their assistance and guidance they gave to the students. This annual science fair was again put together under the excellent direction of Mr. Mahaffy, 8th Grade Science Teacher. Many thanks to all who judged, and to those people who helped with putting on this fair, because without your help, the science fair would not have been as successful as it was! The weather improves and Huntley Town Square improvements begin again. Clark Borhart (center) of Borhart Landscape and his employee, Jose Flores (left), worked with Jeremy Wagner (right) of the Huntley Park District to lay a Victorian Circle inter-lock brick sidewalk in the square. Paul Ostrander, maintenance director for the park district, is coordinating the project. The village bought the bricks and Borhart Landscape is donating the labor and equipment to complete the project. Village Board Presents Agenda There will be a regular board meeting of the Village of Huntley on Thursday, March 24. 1994 at 7pm at the village hall at 11704 Coral St., Huntley, IL. A. Call to Order B. Approval of Minutes -March 10. 1994 regular board meeting C. Mayor's Report -Appointments Village Attorney Building Dept, Secretary Zoning Brd./Appeals-Member D. Administrator's Report E. Attorney's Report -Numerous rezoning ordinances -Committee reorganization ordinance F. Engineer's Report G. Department Reports -Building -Public Works - Police H. Public Comments (limited to 3 minutes) I. Old Business ' -Award bids on Annex Bldg. -Bills removed from bill list -Name on tank J. New Business K. Executive Session L. Adjournment HFPD Held Special Meeting Regarding TIF II President Gow announced the purpose of the meeting was a public meeting between the school and fire districts in regard lo TIF II and called same to order. Present were: President Gow, Secretary Williams, Trustee Graf and Attorney Militello, as well as School Board President Heavey and Dr, Bunt of the school district. President Gow set out issues for the school district to continued on page 5 SHARE Pickup Happens Saturday SHARE pick-up is this Saturday, March 26th at the Elementary School Cafeteria, 9:30-ll:00am. Come and sign up for April 23 delivery, too, or you can buy a basket to donate to the Food Pantry. For information call Carol at 669-5395.
