Miss Huntley to Compete for Miss Illinois USA
Miss Jennifer Schroeder, 19, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Schroeder of Huntiey has been selected as a Semi-Finalist in the 1997 Miss Illinois USA Pageant which will take place in the Grand Ballroom of the Hyat Regency Hotel in Schaumburg the weekend of November 29-30 and December 1.
The winner will represent Illinois in Uie 1997 Miss USA Pageant which will be televised LIVE next February. Miss USA will win over $200,000 in cash and prizes. Contestants will be judged on the basis of beauty of face and figure, poise, personality, grooming, intelligence and speaking abiUty.
Jennifer is presently a Sophomore student at McHenry County College. Her honors and awards include: Academic Achievement Award; Outstanding Citizenship Award; Big 8 Conference; Cheerleading. Her hobbies include working on mlmputers and shopping. Jennif^ ^inds 5'6" tall, has blonde hair and blue eyes. Her ambition in life is to go into Marketing and Computer Graphics and Design. Her sponsors for the Illinois Pageant are: Patten Tractor & Equipment Co.; DFC Transportation Co.; Daniel and Mary Plote; Balanced Estimates, Inc.; Seal-Right Paving; Richard and Florence Hoffman; Roland Machinery Co.
The public is invited to attend the preliminary competition Friday, November 29 and Saturday, November 30 beginning at 8:00 pm, and Uie Finals on Sunday, December 1 at 2:00 pm
Huntley Takes Third in State

The Huntiey Volleyball Team took third in state this past weekend. Huntiey also set a record for most wins in school history wiUi 39.
This was HunUey's best record under coach Larry Kahl at 39-3. Coach Kahl's record in his six years at Huntley is 178-31-1. For complete coverage on all Uie games turn to Uie spwts page.
Huntley Lions Club Selling Xmas Wreaths & Candy Canes
Now is the time to order your Christmas wreaths and pine bough candy canes from the Huntley Lions Club. The club uses the money earned for their many worthwhile functions that benefit the community.

Doctors Feed The Hungry
On November 23rd, Walsh Chiropractic, will again be participating in Uie "Doctors Feed The Hungry" program. All services are free on that day for a donation of non-perishable food. Everydiing will be donated to Grafton Township Food Pantry. This is the fourth year Dr. Walsh has participated, donating approximately $2,000 worth of services.

McHenry Savings Bank Grand Re-Opening Party
NOTICE
The Huntiey Fannside will be produced 1 day early next week because of Thanksgiving. The deadline for news and advertising for the November 28 issue will be Friday November 22 at 5 pm.
The Farmside office will be closed Wednesday, November 27 through Sunday, December 1, in observance of Thanksgiving.
A Ribbon-Gutting Ceremony was held at the McHenry Savings Bank for their Grand Re-Opening Party following completion of their remodeling. Participating are (I to r) Huntley Police Chief Randy Walters, McHenry Savings Bank Huntley assistant vice-president and branch manager Cathy Shamhart, McHenry Savings Bank vice-president Jim Marinangel, McHenry Savings Bank CEO Kathy Marinangel, Senator Dick Klemm and Mayor Jim Dhamer.
McHenry Savings Bank in Huntiey celebrated their newly remodeled banking facilities wiUi a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Nov. 14. The bright and exciting new bank interior was the scene for a fabulous buffet. Those attending were entertained by a roving magician performing tricks and a professional clown making balloon animals.
A drawing was held for prizes donated by businesses in the Huntley Center. Winners were: a $100 gift certificate from Huntiey Travel won by Steve DeQuaker; a Weber gas portable grill from Ace Hardware won by Carla Daleiden; two videos from Video Smideo/ Carpet Store won by Karen Fleck; dinner for two for die Water Tower Grill in the HunUey Center won by Ken Janice; and a gift certificate from HunUey Floral won by Joe Kaltwasser.

Handbell Choir's Brunch
Mark your calendars for Sunday, November 24 - the day when the Handbell Choirs of the First Congregational Church of Huntiey will be sponsoring their annual brunch from 8:30 - 12:30 in the fellowship hall of the church, located at the comer of Church St. and Main St. in Huntley.
Some of the menu items will include chicken-ala-king, scrambled eggs, sausage, Wisconsin cheese grits, hash, a taco bar, salads and delicious homemade desserts and sweet breads and muffins.
Tickets may be purchased at the door, or from any handbell choir member. Proceeds will be to send our ringers to a festival in Springfield in 1998.
