Grand Opening To Be Held For
New Huntley Center Business Complex
The Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry is joining three other businesses this weekend to have a grand opening at their new location in the Huntley Center, 10436 Route 47. The chamber will be joined by Huntley Travel, Huntley Floral and Huntley Country Copy. Refreshments, fresh baked cookies and door prizes will be given out. Stop in at Huntley Travel and sign up for free airline tickets »-   anywhere in the United States

Log Cabin Renovation Nears Completion

The renovation project on the Boy Scout Log Cabin in Deicke Paric is nearing completion. "We probably only need two or three more Sundays to finish," said project supervisor Hoppy Kahl. "The worst is just about over, but we still have a few little jobs to complete." There are shutters and doors to be made and hung, and some finishing touches yet to complete.
Almost all the shingles are on the roof now, thanks to the expert work of Jim McMahon. Jim and his crew worked until the shingles ran out, and will finish the job when more supplies arrive.

Norm Brettschneider and Tim Kahl, there is a sturdy new chimney in the log cabin. Carrying, placing and cementing those stones was not an easy job and these guys deserve a lot of credit for their hard work.
Other woricers on this Sunday's crew were Dave Lindsey, Walter Lueck, Mark Lilly, Brad Wych, Shane Jordi, Jim Heavey, Jack Sunderlage and Art Kahl.

Even though the job is nearly done, volunteers are still welcome to come to the cabin on Sunday mornings at 7:30am to help.

Huntley Factory Shops will open in August 1994.
Huntley Factory Shops Host Hard Hat Tour-
Prime Retail hosted a behind-the-scenes construction tour of Huntley Factory Shops outlet center last week. Local media and Village of Huntley representatives took a "hard hat" tour of the construction site of the 192,000-square-foot open-air mall. Prime Retail CEO Abraham Rosenthal lead the tour providing details on the construction process and the upcoming opening in August 1994.
Huntley Factory Shops broke
ground last October for the first phase of the project. The three-phased, village-style outlet center will feature a diverse tenant mix, food court, playground, covered walkways and extensive landscaping. Beautiful hand-designed copper weathervanes will accentuate the mall's architectural style. D.G. Murphy of Lake Barrington designed and created the weathervanes. He is also the creator of the copper weathervane donated by Prime
Group to top the new Town Square gazebo in Huntley.
The project is located on 40 acres at the entrance to the planned 2,650-acre, multi-use community development on the south end of Huntley. Under the direction of Prime Group, Inc. of Chicago, the development will feature business, residential and commercial entities, including a hotel and conference center, golf courses, business parks and corporate offices.
