Prime Group Donates Land To Huntley's Fire District
By Melissa Cavill
The Prime Group, Inc. unveiled a sign Tuesday, August 16lh, dedicating ihc donation of 1.6 acres of land to the Huntley Fire Protection District. When completed, the new facility will be completely accessible for all people, in compliance wilh the American Disabilities AcL The new facility will have improved training facilities for classes such as CPR, infant CPR and first aid.
Hunlley Village Board
President James Dhamer said that the donation of this land symbolizes the good relationship between The Prime Group and the Village of Huntley.
The site, just off of Route 47 on the new Freeman Road, is convenient in access and location. All traffic lights in the new development will be equipped wilh a "safety strobe" system, which automatically turns traffic signals red when fire apparatus approaches an intersection. This system of strobe lights improves
response time by slopping traffic in all directions. Keeping the intersection clear and slopping traffic reduces the possibility of collisions between fire apparatus and civiUan vehicles.
The main fire station in downtown Huntley will remain in use. Prime Group stresses that response time will not be affected for existing village residents.
"This gift is a statement that Prime Group cares about Hunlley," said Huntley Fire Protection District President
