The Miss Huntley Pageant is being sponsored by the Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The contestants from which our 1995 Miss Huntley will be chosen are (alphabetically) Kelly Anne Bien, Andrea Jayne Jaroch, Heather Kane, and Jamie Marshall.
Kelly Bien, 17, is a senior at Huntley High School. Kelly is being sponsored by the First National Bank of Marengo- Huntley Banking Center. Jones New York Factory Finale is sponsoring her sportswear clothing. She enjoys collecting teddy bears, flower arranging, sunny days, shopping and walks on the beach. Kelly is currently working at Baker's Square and plans to attend the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana to major in agriculture. Her community involvement includes 4-H, FFA and CCD youth group. She is looking forward to representing her community and has lived in Huntley for 17 years.
Andrea Jaroch, 17, is a senior at Huntley High School. Andrea is being sponsored by Huntley Floral. John Henry and Friends of Huntley is sponsoring her sportswear clothing. She enjoys sports, music and spending time with family and friends. She is currently employed at Video
Smideo and plans to attend the University of Tennessee at Martin where she will study secondary education/spanish. Andrea's community involvement includes
Operation Snowball and a youth group traveling service at her church. She is looking forward to representing her community and has lived in Huntley for 17 years.
Heather Kane, 16 1/2, is a junior at Marian Central Catholic High School. Heather is being sponsored by Huntley Chiropractic and Massage Therapy of Huntley. Aileen of Huntley is sponsoring her sportswear clothing. She enjoys singing, acting, reading, opera, theater, music, Shakespeare and drama club. Heather has several career plans including attending Bradley University to pursue a career in performing arts or becoming a courtroom lawyer. She also has a dream of performing on Broadway. Heather has lived in Huntley for 13 years.
Jamie Marshall, 16, is a sophomore at Huntley High School. Jamie is being sponsored by Russ's Lock and Key of HunUey. Reebok/ Rockport of Huntley is sponsoring her sportswear clothing. She enjoys shopping, spending money and basketball. Jamie is currently employed at T.J. Maxx and plans to pursue a modeling career and become a teacher. Her community involvement includes working at the Children's Miracle Network. Jamie is looking forward to representing her community and has lived in Huntley for 9 years.
The pageant will be held on Sunday, April 30, at 6:30pm
in the Huntley Factory Shops Food Court. The public is invited to attend the pageant and there is no admission
charge. Dr. William Awe of
Huntley Chiropractic and Massage Therapy will be the master of ceremonies for the evening. Dr. Awe's suit is being sponsored by S & K Menswear of Huntley.
The chamber would like to thank the following who have agreed to judge the pageant: Carolyn Morris, Mrs. Illinois 1995; Patty Burrato, former runner up for the Ms. Moline Pageant; and John Linn, pageant director for Lake County,
They would also like to thank the Huntley Factory Shops for their sponsorship of $500 towards the scholarship fund, a $250 shopping spree and the luncheon they provided for the contestants. Also, thanks to pageant chairman Pat Bieszki of Northwest Mobile Fitness and committee members Jan Hoeft of Interior Motives, Kristy Smith of Mary Kay Cosmetics, Jane Awe of Huntley Chiropractic and Massage Therapy and Belinda Carter, marketing director of the Huntley Factory Shops. Jan Hoeft is sponsoring the crown for the winner, carpeting and skirting for the stage and Merle Hoeft is donating the labor to build the stage. Thank you to J.H. Patterson who is donating the lumber. Midwest Ground Cover will be supplying the plant decorations for the stage, Huntley Harvestors 4-H Club will be the greeters for the evening and entertainment will be provided by the Huntley Music Department. Huntley Horal will be providing the flowers
for the contestants.
Other businesses contributing
to the general scholarship fund are: Huntley Lions Club, Essency Desktop Creations, BCristy Smith/Mary Kay Cosmetics, Huntley Chamber and Quality Water Conditioning.
Miss Huntley will win a $750 scholarship sponsored by chamber business members, a hair and nails package sponsored by S.S. Clipper in Huntley and a pair of Avia aerobic shoes sponsored by Northwest Mobile Fitness.
The second runner up will
receive a $250 shopping spree at the Huntley factory Shops and a pair of Avia aerobic shoes sponsored by Northwest Mobile Fitness.
All contestants will receive a professional portrait, courtesy of H. Walter Portraits of Woodstock; a free make-up session prior to the photos, courtesy of Kristy Smith/Mary Kay Cosmetics; a sports bottle, courtesy of Northwest Mobile Fitness; and a certificate of participation.
Huntley Liquor Committee To Meet
The liquor committee of the Village of Huntley will hold their annual meeting on Thursday, April 27, 1995 at 7pm at the Village of Huntiey
Annex Building, 11221 Dundee Rd., HunUey. The purpose of Uiis meeting will be to approve and distribute annual liquor licenses.
