Huntley Buzzards Shut Out Marengo Tourney
The Huntley Park District's Under 10 Spring Soccer Team #2, a.k.a. "The Buzzards", scored an undefeated first place in their last game of the season, the annual Marengo Soccer Tournament. No one shot a goal against the Buzzards in four games with these shut-out scores; 8-0, 6-0, 4-0 and 1-0. Ten teams competed in the tournament including six Marengo teams, three Huntley teams and one Harvard team.
Pictured right, the proud Buzzards each hold their individual trophies, display a poster showing their tournament achievement, and want Huntley to know they are Number 1!
Cabin Renovation Still Needs Helpers

"The cabin (Boy Scout Log Cabin) is coming along pretty good," said Hoppy Kahl, coordinator of the renovation project. "But, we're running a little short on help. We hope we can get enough help to have the walls and roof up by the Town Picnic." The log walls are 6 logs high now, and they plan to go up to 8 logs high.
A few people have expressed an interest in working in the evenings. Anyone who is willing to help out for a few hours should call Hoppy Kahl at 669-3910 to set up a

Hundreds of Huntlians turned out Monday morning for the annual Memorial Day Parade and Huntley Cemetary Ceremony. Some of the parade participants were Huntley VFW, American Legion and Lions; Huntley Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts; Huntley 4-H clubs (Harvestors and Pioneers); Huntley Fire Protection District; Huntley D.A.R.E.; Huntley High School Band; antique cars from WWI veteran Joe Bennett; and others including this little girl in her patriotically decorated car (left).
