Huntiians to Perform In "Dreamland"
Lora Linnenkohl and Dana Stading of Huntley will perform on April 20 & 21 in "Dreamland," this year's 17th annual ice show at the Polar Dome Ice Arena in Dundee.
The "Dreamland" ice show will feature solo performances by several Polar Dome insu^uctors and students, including Lora and Dana, as well as award winning guest skaters and precision teams.
This event is an opportunity for people who enjoy watching competitive figure skating on TV to see a live show. Wilh the diversity of costumes, music and skating styles, "Dreamland" will be a memorable and affordable family event.
Tickets for "Dreamland" Ice Show can be purchased at the door. Shows are April 20 at 2pm and 7pm and April 21 at 2pm.
The Polar Dome is located on Rt. 25 and Rt. 72 in Dundee.
Remember to dress warmly.

Lora Linnenkohl, 19, a graduate of Huntley High School currently attending McHenry Cty College, has been skating for 12 years and has acquired 25 trophies through¬ out her competitive career. She currently skates at the freestyle 6 level, working on accomplishing her double jumps. When not skating or attending school, she can be found working at Genoa Pizza or helping coach the junior high pom squad. Performing in a professional skating show or coaching is Lora's goal for the future.
Dana Stading, 13, attends Huntley Middle School. Dana has been skating for 3 years, and is currently at the freestyle 5 level. She will begin working on her "doubles" while training hard this summer. In her short time competing, Dana has acquired 20 trophies and plans on adding more to that number next season. When not skating, Dana works at The Huntley Farmside, and enjoys taking care of her dogs, cats and ducks.
Both skaters are coached by Lori Lilly.
Huntley Clean Sweeps unto Earth Day '96,

As we wait for Spring to make an appearance this year, it's time to get ready for Clean Sweep '96. This community project is a chance for everyone who lives and works in Huntley to come together fro a few hours and clean up the trash and debris that has accumulated in our town over the year. We have coordinated this event with "Earth Day" which is an international day of recognition and honor of the health and life of our planet.
Clean Sweep - Huntley is a project sponsored by the Huntley Chamber of Commerce & Industry in cooperation with the Village of Huntley and the Huntley Park District. Anyone who is interested in helping is invited and encouraged to participate.
The goal of the project is to split volunteers into teams to cover the ends of town. We pick¬
up road side tfash and debris until we all meet back in the town square park. The event will begin at Sam on Saturday, April 20, and continue until approximately 11am. Refreshments will be provided before and after the event and water will be available through the morning.
Volunteers should meet at the Huntley Park DisU'ict office at 7:30am for briefing and registration. We will divide up and begin promptly at Sam. If you would like to join in after the start time, please feel free to find a group and walk along.
Last year, we picked up over 200 bags of road side trash! This is truly amazing if you consider the roads through Huntley only cover a few miles! That is like taking 100 families garbage for the-week and dumping it in the ditches - not way off in the country, but in the middle of town! And to think, this whole project was done the last two years. In other words, all that trash has accumulated in just one year!
Earth Day was created to emphasize the necessity for the conservation of the world's natural resources. We have threatened these resources with our pollution of the air, water and soils. Even today, people throw u^ash out their windows as they drive through our town. Unfortunately, many people today still have not made the connection between the health of the planet and the health of the person. A clean place to live is essential for good health a well as a positive self image. You can make a difference. We have established clear evidence in this country that if people stop the pollution they make today and clean up that which they made in the past, nature will rebound with startling speed! Clean Sweep - Huntley is a great way for you to get involved - stay involved and work for a better environment. Together we can take action to preserve the fragile biological resources that are so essential to the future of Huntley and the World!
Huntley High Sponsors Blood Drive
Huntley High School will host a blood drive on Monday, April 22, 9am-lpm. For more information contact the high school or Heartland Blood Centers at 708/892-7055 or 1-800-786-4483. Whole blood donated at local centers and blood drives is made into components. Platelets, a clotting component, are only good for 5 days. Three hundred more whole blood donors are needed a week for platelet production. Donors of all types are needed lo meet transfusion needs.
Huntley Talent '96
The Huntley Jr. and Sr. High Schools present Talent '96. Stu¬ dents in grades 6-12 will perform a variety of acts, including singing, dancing, and comedy. Guest ap¬ pearances are expected from local celebrities as well. From karate to poetry, this show has it all. It takes place in the grade school gym, Friday, April 19, at 7:30 PM. Tickets are only S2.00 each and are available at the high school or at the door.
TLC Preschool Plans Open House
James Goebbert, Andy Tegel, Kevin Paulson, and Ryan Corbin practice their architectural skills at TLC Preschool.
The TLC Preschool and Kindergarten in Huntley will hold an open house and book fair on Saturday, April 20, 10am-12pm. They invite you to come and join the fun.
The school will be open for visitors to view classrooms and talk to the staff. There will also be a book fair at the same time, with a large selection of favorite chilren's books.
