Huntley Longaberger® Basket Dealers To Aid American Cancer Society
By Susan Lamb
Is there anyone whose life hasn't been touched in one way or another by cancer? Last year the Longaberger ® Company teamed up with the American Cancer Society to help fund breast cancer research and education. By donating $2.00 from the sale of each Horizon of Hope^" Basket, along wilh personal conu-ibutions from consultants, they were able to raise almost $450,000 for the American Cancer Society. This year they are aiming for $550,000 to make their two year contribution a million dollars toward research and education dealing with breast cancer.
This year, a group of local Independent Longaberger® Consultants will be taking this campaign one step further. Susan Lamb, along with Shelly Isenhart, Becky Coduto, Kim Meyer, Donna Britton, Cindi Cook and Karen Brown, will be hosting a "Fight against Breast Cancer" fundraiser on June 30 and July 1 in Huntley.
Along with the company donation, they will personally sponsor this fundraiser by contributing half of their commissions directly to the American Cancer Society.
They will be hosting their fundraiser at Trinity Lutheran Church in Huntley from 2-4pm on Sunday, June 30, and again on Monday, July 1, from 7-9pm. There will be speakers, informational handouts, drawings for free gifts, and drawings for free mammograms from Sherman Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital of Elgin.
By participating in this event, you can share in the feeling of making a difference in the fight against cancer. Wouldn't it be nice to see an end to breast cancer in your lifetime?
