Huntley 6th grade volleyball team undefeated

HHS announces Homecoming court
Matt Fruin and Summer Bakley (at right) were crowned Home-coming King and Queen at Huntley High School's Home-coming celebration last weekend.
The Senior court of attendants included Isabelle Nunez and Tim Kahl, Michelle Barrett and Ric Faworski, Lindsey Lane and Erik Olsen, Kristin Fuller and Chad Kafca.
Junior attendants were Lisa Aschenbrenner and Scott Dvorak.
Sophomore attendants were Becky Weber and Steve Wallace.
Freshman Attendants were Melissa Hughes and Alan Stramalia.

6th grade volleyball team
This year's sixth grade Huntley Royals Volleyball team has played nine matches and are still undefeated.
The team consists of 13 players: Jenny Hahn #9, Kira Cassidy #2, Erin Borhart #11, Sadie Wych #8. Carissa Trent #1, Alexandra Robles #15, Brie Sotern #3, Justine Fitzsimmons #13, Carmie Stragmalia #12, Kim Jurs #14, Courtney
and Bobbi Kalleck #7.
As a team, the girls leam how to play the game, all the mechanics of the game, sportsmanship, responsi¬ bility, teamwork, while maintaining good grades.
On Oct. 21, the team travels to West Chicago for the sixth grade volleyball tournament. Thisyear, the team becamebetter friends with other people and had a lot of fun.

Huntley Park District presents meeting minutes
An ice rink for 01' Timer's Park and a new snowplow truck were rwo ofthe items discussed at the Huntley Park District meeting on Sept. 27. 1995.
The regular meeting ofthe Huntley Park District was called to order by President Yerke at 7:04pm on Wed., Sept. 27, 1995. In attendance were President, Yerke, Commissioners Tures, Borhart, Awe and Wright, Attorney CowUn, Paul Ostrander and Ashley Zwick from the Northwest Herald.
Dr. Awe moved, Mr. Borhart seconded, to accept the minutes of the previous meeting and the monthly treasurer's report. Motion passed.
The monthly bills were presented. Dr. Awe moved to approve payment of these bills. Mr. Tures seconded the motion and the motion passed.
Paul Ostrander reported the new truck will be arriving shortly and the snow plow and truck bed will be added before final delivery. Various plants are being purchased and
planted in the woods to form an arboretum-type setting.
Mr. Wright moved. Dr. Awe seconded, to purchase the 60' x 120' plastic ice rink liner to be placed in or Timer's park.
Betsey Warrington's report gave information on the cost ofthe Town Picnic, theplarmer's recommendation for a referendum, the Fire Department and Village's approval of remodeling the present garage into office and storage space if it is needed. Committee reports included paving of the parking lot from the entry to the log cabin, insurance, registration software now in use, researching financial software, newspaper
articles, play equipment and programs including soccer and girls Softball.
New Business: Dr. Awe moved to annex the Prairie Oaks subdivision into the Huntley Park District, Mrs. Wright seconded. Motion passed.
President Yerke reported on the meetings he has attended concerning the Cambridge Home development.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40pm on a motion by Mr. Tures, seconded by Mr. Borhart. Motion passed.
