Christmas Contest Winners Announced!
The ballots are in and the winners have been elected!
First Prize in The Huntley Farmside Christmas Decorating Contest goes to 10820 Woodstock Street - Jim and Peg Schultz.
First prize includes: $50 gift certificate from Huntley Country Store, Huntley Chiropractic gift certificate, $50 U.S. savings bond from McHenry Savings Bank, $15 gift certificate from Huntley Supermarket, lunch or dinner for 2 from Wander Inn, $3 in lottery tickets from Walk In Pantry, large pizza from Luigi's Pizza, gift certificate from Walsh Chiropractic, $5 gift certificate from Papa G's, "Free Willy" video from Video Smideo, and $15 gift certificate from Huntley Floral.
Second Prize was awarded to 11910 W. Main Street - Doug and Judy Vierck along with their daughters. Dawn and Jamie. Their prize includes: Huntley Chiropractic gift certificate. $25 gift certificate from Huntley Country Store, $15 gift certificate from Bill's Village Inn, large pizza from Luigi's Pizza. $3 in lottery tickets from Walk In Pantry, Walsh Chiropractic gift certificate, $50 savings bond from State Bank of Huntley, $15 gift certificate from Huntley Floral, and Barney video from Video Smideo.

Don Tessmer won the Voter Prize. His voting ballot was drawn from all the ballots cast. His prize includes: $10 gift certificate from Huntley Supermarket, a toy truck from Northwest Truck & Auto NAPA, $3 in lottery tickets from Walk In Pantry, Walsh Chiropractic gift certificate, lunch or dinner for two at Wander Inn, $25 gift certificate from Huntley Country Store, and $5 gift certificate from Papa G's.
Cindy Simmons of Belvidere won the Voter Bonus Questions Prize. Her name was drawn from all the voters who correctly answered the bonus questions about the contest entries. Her prize includes: $3 in lottery tickets from Walk In Pantry, $50 savings bond from State Bank of Huntley, $15 gift certificate from Huntley Floral, Barney video from Video Smideo, $5 gift certificate from Papa G's, and Walsh Chiropractic gift certificate.
For all those curious, the answers to the bonus questions were as follows: 1) Who's riding behind Santa's tractor at 10820 Woodstock? A cow. 2) How many teddy bears are sitting at 12804 Hemmingson? Three. 3) What sits on top of the blinking pole in the yard at 11316 S. Myrtle? A birdhouse. 4) How many candy canes are there at 56 Baron? Twenty-one. 5) What color are the lights at 10610 Charles? Multi-colored. 6) Who's in the stable at 11910 W. Main? Two reindeer. Some of you were really clever with your answers. The Huntley Farmside staff got several chuckles while counting ballots. A few of the creative answers were: Who's riding behind Santa's tractor? Arnold Schwarzenegger; What color
are the lights at 10610 Charles? Black; and finally, Who's in the stable at 11910 W. Main? Chelsea Clinton.
All the contestants received a $1 lottery ticket from Walk In Pantry and a free classified ad from The Huntley Farmside. The other contestants were Derek & Tammy Biba, 56 Baron Lane; Buzz Chaves, 10610 Charles Street; and Flo Beltz, 11316 S. Myrtle Street.
One voter from each ballot box was drawn to receive a free classified ad in The Huntley Farmside News. They were: Judy Hansen, Alice Rendl, Alice Jordi, Al Jordi, Mona Wickerscheim, Elmer Wickerscheim, Heather Schifo, Lucy Kahl, Karen Chaves, Evelyn Benning, Fran Borhart, and Del Borhart.
The Huntley Farmside wants to thank those who entered the contest and all the other Huntley citizens who decorated so beautifully for the Christmas season! It really adds a special joy to the holidays in our community. Plus a big thank you to all of you who took the time to see each of the lovely displays and vote for your favorites.
