Huntley Chamber Reports On Plans, Activities

Booth space is going fast for Huntley's second Business Expo, "Growing Toward The Future II," on Feb. 26, 10am- 5pm and Feb. 27, 10am-4pm, at the Huntley High School. STAR radio, 105.5FM, will be on hand both days with their Giant Rolling Radio. Raffle prizes to be awarded include tickets to the Empress Riverboat Casino in Joliet, $50 cash, sponsored by Essency Desktop Creations, one night stay with breakfast for two at the Holiday Inn Holidome in Elgin, $25 gift certificate to S.S. Clipper Hair Design, and more. The Expo is a great way to meet local businesses and organizations and view their products and learn about their services. Then, relax at the Expo Cafe and enjoy lunch with the family.

The minutes of the special meeting of the Huntley Fire Protection District Trustees, Nov. 24, 1993.
The meeting was called to order at 7:11pm with the following present. President Gow. Williams. Homuth, Graf.
Motion by Gow, second by Williams lo go into executive session to discuss personnel with Ihe following invited; Chief Veath. firegighters Eeg. ¦ Strogfus and Mark Kunde.
Motion by Gow, second by Graf lo come out of executive session at 7; 15pm.
Motion by Homuth, second by Graf to promote firefighter Eeg to the open position of lieutenant with all trustees voting aye.
The next order of business was a discussion of the new department policies, rules and regulations and employee job descriptions. After discussion a motion by Williams, second
will be interviewing candidates for Miss Huntley before the Expo. They will choose one girl to be Miss Huntley and represent Huntley at the Expo and the Miss McHenry County Pageant this summer. We'd like to thank the following who have offered to sponsor the Miss Huntley Pageant: Thomas Baker, Essency Desktop Creations, Muterspaugh and Associates Architects AIA. Tricia Clancy Broker/Realtor Windsor Realty, Lea Heating and Air Conditioning, R&R Metalcraft, Northwest Mobile Fitness, Huntley Floral, Mary Kay Cosmetics-Kristy Smith and Lyn Drathring and the Huntley Lioness. If you are interested in booth space, contact the chamber office, 708-669-0166. The Awards and Installation Banquet was recently held at Bowl-Hi Banquet Hall in
Huntley. Congratulations to the following businesses who received awards: Business Beautification/Tim and Ann Essig. owners of Huntley Country Store; Chamber Involvement/Pat Bieszki, owner of Northwest Mobile Fitness and Mary Kay Cosmetics-Kristy Smith and Lyn Drathring; Community Involvement/Huntley Police Department for their D.A.R.E. program and Don Zielinski, manager of Bowl-Hi; Ready, Willing and Able Award/ Barb Christ, owner of B & K Power Equipment; and the new Chamber Logo Award/Steve DeQuaker, owner of Essency Desktop Creations. The logo was designed to coordinate with the Chamber's name, created by Lee Hayles, owner of B-Quik Graphics. The Women's Council will be

Conducts Special Meeting, Truth In Taxation Hearing
by Graf to approve the employee job descriptions with all trustees voting aye. Motion by Graf, second by Homuth to approve department policies with all trustees voting aye. Motion by Williams second by Graf to approve rules and regulations with all trustees voting aye.
Next. Chief Veath suggested the purchase of Christmas turkeys be kepi to employees and retirees.
A discussion of new extrication equipment was next. Motion by Homuth, second by (iraf to purchase a new Hurst JL-27 Hydraulic Spreader from WOS Safety for $4,455.00 with all trustees voting aye.
Motion by Homuth. second by Williams to go to executive session to discuss land acquisition at 9:20pm.
Motion by Homuth. second by Graf to come out of executive session at 9:35pm.
A discussion followed about the department education policy. It was decided to keep the current policy the same.

December 16, 1993 Regular Meeting
The Dec. 16. 1993 regular meeting of the Huntley Fire Protection District Trustees was called to order at 7pm in the board rooih of the Fire Protection District offices by the President. Present were President Gow. Treasurer Homuth, Secretary Williams, Trustee Allen and Fire Chief Veath as well as Attorney Militello.
Borhart Receives Life Membership Award
Del Borhart shows off the Life Membership Award he received from the Huntley Lions. The award provides for Borhart's future membership fees and is given in recognition of his years of membership and service.
Gary Schultz Receives Lions Award
Gary Schultz received the Lions' Growth Award and congratulations from Huntley Lions' Secretary, Dick Kohley. The award was present for his membership drive work.
Secretary Williams in his report advised the board he had received the canvass results from County Clerk Schultz, noted as received and
put on file.
The minutes of Nov. 18. 1993 were put before the board. Treasurer Homuth stated that
