Three Huntley teams compete in this eight-team league - Huntley Legion 1, Huntley Legion 2, and PR. Parrot's.
Despite the torrential rains and swarms of mosquitoes that plagued the season, Huntley Legion Team 1 finished in first place.
The Huntley American Legion horseshoe pits are located at the comer of 1st Street and Woodstock Street, directly behind the Legion building.
Village Board To Hold Special Meeting
There will be a special meeting of the Village of Huntley Board of Trustees on Thursday, Sept. 5. The meeting will be at 7pm at the village annex building at 11221 Dundee Rd., Huntley. The purpose is to consider awarding of the Oak Creek Parkway bid.
Huntley School District #158 is Back in Session.
Carnival Rally Day At Trinity
Trinity Lutheran Church will kick off the Sunday School year with a Carnival, on Sunday, September 8th. The teachers have planned a festival of fun. There will be all kinds of games for the children to play, prizes to win, and goodies to enjoy.
The fun will begin after the 9AM worship service, lasting until about ll:I5am. Trinity Lutheran Sunday School is open to all children, ages 3 through high school. Regular classes will begin Sunday, September 15th.
Stop by the church office to register your child or register at the camival.

St. Peter Youth Car Wash
On Saturday, Sept. 7, St. Peter Lutheran Church Youth Group, Gilberts, will be holding a car wash at Eagle Country Market on the comer of Algonquin and Randall Roads from 10am - Ipm. The money raised will go to help pay for a Winter Retreat to Walcamp, Kingston, IL. For more information contact Vicar Quentin Genke 847/428-4054.

The Farmside will publish a keepsake, supplemental issue entitled "Remember when . . .". How we were. Who we were. The "good old days" as we like to remember them.

Huntley Park Plans Senior Social
The Huntley Park District is once again sponsoring the Second Monday Senior Social. District seniors can meet and eat and then play cards, games or just visit. September 9 is the date, and noon
is the time for this very popular program. Call the park office at 669-3180 to make your reservation and get information on the fee. The deadline for reservations is Friday, Sept. 6.
The Huntley Schools are now back in session.
According to information supplied by the School Central Office, more than a fourth of the employees are new to the Huntley School District
Nearly half of the employees are either new to the school district or have been employed less than a year.
Twenty-nine of the 103 certified employees are new; forty-seven will be in their first or second year in the district. At least a fourUi of the more than 60 support staff will be new to the district this year.
It is also anticipated that more than a fourth of the students in the grade school will be new to the school district
Recently the Board of Education adopted the Mission Statement immediately following: Carrying a proud past into a rapidly changing future, the primary mission of School District 158
is to develop coifident, productive, thoughtful, and caring citizens who will succeed in a high tech, international community,
by providing   a   positive,   safe environment with a competent and po'sitive staff working in concert with the community.
According to the school district central office, "The rapid growth provides a unique opportunity to mold the school district to match our vision."
Parent Advisory Council
Any parent of a high school student is invited to attend an organizational meeting ofa parent advisory council scheduled for Thursday, September 12th, at 8:00 p.m., in the High School Cafeteria Typically, PAC's act as a sounding board, identify concems and suggest solufions concerning the educational program of a school. Come and discover how you can be involved in making Huntley High School a better place for students.
