Local photographer's work to be displayed at international convention
Two prints created by Helen Walter, certified professional photographer of H. Walter Portraits in rural Woodstock, were recently accepted intothe general collection ofthe 104th International Exposition of
Professional Photography. Walter's work will be on display at the Rosemont Convention Center July30-Aug. 1, in conjunction with the Professional Photographers of America's intemational convention, PPA '95 "Changing for the Future.'' The two works, "Just One of the Gang," one of her increasingly popular pet portraits, and "Are We Done Yet?," a black-and-white portrait of a young boy, are examples of Walter's specialties in children and pet portraiture.
Park District presents meeting minutes
or Timer's Park vandalism and public donations were two of the issues discussed at the Huntley Park District meeting on June 28.
The regular meeting ofthe Huntiey Park District was called to order by President Yerke at 7:05pm on Wednesday, June 28. Present were Commissioners Yerke, Tures, Borhart and Wright, Betsey ^pVarrington, Paul Ostrander, Graham Knott, Eric Peterson and Donna Heavey.
Sandy Wright moved, Clark Borhart seconded, to approve the minutes of theMay 24 meeting and tiie ti-easurer' s monthly report. Motion passed.
The bills for June were presented. Robert Tures moved, Clark Borhart seconded to approve payment of tiiese bills. Motion passed.
The budget hearing was opened to the public and no comments were
made.
Graham Knott expressed his
concerns and views conceming the renegotiations of park areas with PrimeGroup. Hethen left tiie meeting.
President Yerke acknowledged all the people and the effort they put forth in making the Town Picnic a great success. A special thanks to Betsey Warrington and the par staff for all ofthe extras tiiey did above and beyond their duties. Paul Ostrander reported on the upgraded electiic, additional lights in the parking lot, repairs of track, baseball and soccer field renovation, purchase of new Truck, playground equipment and the vandalism at 01' Timer's Park. Sandy Wright moved to offer a reward for information leading to the anest and conviction of the guilty party responsible for this vandalism, Clark Borhart seconded. Motion passes.

memory of Toni Soper; and cash from the Huntiey Lions Club and Huntley Boy Scouts to be used for the log cabin maintenance fund. Betsey Warrington reported that the park district has been chosen by the Huntiey Chamber of Commerce to be one ofthe recipients ofthe proceeds from the Fun Run sponsored by the Reebok store. She also will complete the term of secretary of recreation for the State of Illinois IPRA organization. Refinishing Unlimited has painted the bus, and the Jaycees have donated the sign to advertise upcoming events. Also a big thank you was extended to Chris and Linda Parker for all of their help with various
projects. Information was presented on a copier and printer, the Mercuri property, the increase in recreation receipts during 1995 and Senate Bill #368.
Charies Yerke moved, Robert Tures seconded, to accept the discormection of property to Crystal Lake as presented. Motion passed.
It is the consensus ofthe board, on the recommendation of the planner, to accept a cash donation from the Lobe development. Charles Yerke moved to adopt the annual prevailing wage for 1995-96, Robert Tures seconded. Motion passed.
The committee reports included picnic reservations and the workshop
to be held July 6, 1995. President Yerke reported on the Town Picnic, with a follow-up review meeting to be announced, and Prime group.
Charles Yerke moved, Robert Tures seconded, to go into executive session at 9pm. Motion passed.
Charles Yerke moved to adjourn the executive session at 9:30pm, Clark Borhart seconded. Motion passed. Robert Tures moved, Sandy Wright seconded, to adjourn the regular meeting. Motion passed.
