Huntley youth build Habitat home
A new house is emerging due to efforts last week by Huntley youth who worked with the Lake County Habitat inBaldwin, Michigan. Youth participating inFirst Congregational Church's annual Habitat Workcamp changed the scene of gaping cellar walls by putting in all the floor joists, putting on the flooring and raising and securing all the exterior and interior walls. Now, a house is emerging.
This house will be the home for a married couple with two children
who have dreamed of owning a home, which is now possible through Habitat for Humanity. The parents worked side by side with the Huntley youth and another United Church youth group from Indianapolis. Together, this formidable work party in five days completed major work on this new home.
Guidance in home building was provided by a professional computer specialist who is committing three years of his life to Habitat and by an RV couple who travel all over the
country giving much of their spare time and skills to Habitat.
The Huntiey youth also worked at another site, preparing a mobile home for movement to another site, to allow building a new home of their mobile home site.
The Huntiey group stayed at St. Ann's church in Baldwin, prepared their own meals and in their spare time went canoeing, swimming and visited Ludington andLake Michigan sand dunes, before returning to Huntley Saturday night.
Huntley School District releases meeting minutes
New social studies textbooks, noxiousweedcontrolandschool ventilation problems were just a few ofthe issues discussed at the school board meeting on May 18.
The Board of School District #158, Huntley Consolidated Schools, Huntiey, IL held its regular meeting onMay 18,1995 in the administration building.
The meeting was called to order by President Heavey at 7:30pm. The following membersanswered present: Ms. Price, Mr. Crabill, Mr. Ruth, Mr. Heavey and Mr. Bauman. Absent: Mr. Ellison and Mr. Wright.

Item #3: Mr. Crabill moved, Ms. Price 2nd to approve the technology plan as presented by TSI. 5 yeas 0 nays. Motion carried.
Item #4: Mr. Ruth moved, Mr. Heavey 2nd to approve the agenda of regular and imprest bills. Yeas: Ruth, Heavey, Bauman, Price, Crabill.

Effective immediately, tSe deadline for both advertisements and news items is aoon on tiie Monday before the issue is released (i.e. tiie deadline for the Thursday, June 22 issue is noon on Monday, June 19.) Advertisements and news items received after tiiis date and time will be held for the following issue.
