Lots of clothing, accessories, household items, toys; books and some furniture will be available 8am-5pm on Friday, March 15. The buys get better on Saturday, March 16, from 8am to noon when everything you can fit into a paper grocery bag costs only $2. All larger items will go for half price. So, if you're looking for glassware, decorative items, jewelry, small appliances or shoes, the Women's Circle rummage sale has it all. The money raised from this sale benefits the 1st Congregational Church of Huntley which serves not only its members but a wide variety of community organizations who use the church building for meetings. The church is located at the comer of Church and Second Streets in Huntley. "Arsenic & Old Lace" in Final Rehearsals Huntiians (1 to r) Peter Liput, Sarah Ryan and Heather Kane rehearse for Marian Central Catholic High School's play, "Arsenic & Old Lace." The entertaining comedy will be performed in Marian's newly built auditorium (with the comfortably padded seats) at 7pm on March 15 & 16, and 2pm March 17. Tickets are on sale now through the school in Woodstock, 815/338-4220, or at the door, for $5 adults and $3 students and seniors. Seating is not reserved; doors open one hour before performances. ^amber to Sponsor Miss Huntley Pageant African Missionary to Speak in Huntley The Huntley Area Chamber of Commerce has begun the planning for the 1996 Miss Huntley Scholarship Pageant. The pageant will be held the weekend of June 8 & 9. The pageant is open to young women, ages 16 to 21, who are Huntley residents. The contestant chosen as Miss Hundey serves as a role model in our community, representing Huntley at a variety of local and surrounding community events. Miss Huntley will receive a scholarship to be used to further her education at a school of her choice. Miss Huntley competes in the Miss McHenry County Pageant, and if she wins, advances to the Miss Illinois County Pageant. Contestants will be sponsored by local Huntley Chamber members. Upon application they will supply all applicants with a list of chamber members, or even help arrange a sponsor. Applications need to be returned to the chamber office by April 15, 1996. To receive an application packet, please call Jan Hoeft, 669-3941 or leave a message at the Huntley Chamber office, 669-0166 and they will get a packet to you. Rev. Jeffrey Phillips, recently returned from mission work in Zimbabwe, will speak this Sunday, March 17, at 6:45 pm at the First Congregational Church evening Lenten Service. This event is open to the public. Rev Phillips, currently serving as minister of the Immanuel UCC Church in Chicago, spent 2 1/2 years serving in Zimbabwe and will share his observations about how mission work is currently being done in Africa. Questions from the audience will be welcomed. The service will end about 7:30 pm. Serving as guest organist for the worship service will be Karen Korbelik. The public is also invited to share in a potluck dinner to be held in the First Congregational Church Fellowship Hall, at 6 pm Sunday evening immediately preceeding the talk by Rev. Phillips. Please bring a dish to pass and your own silver.
