Registered Voters who have moved from one precinct to another within McHenry County since last registered, or from one address to another within the precinct of their residence, must notify the McHenry County Clerk in writing by signing an application for change of residence or by returning their present voter's card to the County Clerk's Office specifying the new address, on or before Tuesday, October 8th. Any person residing in his election district thirty days, on or before the date of the election or any person who shall be eighteen years of age on or before the date of the election shall be permitted to register, if otherwise qualified. Voters who ar registered in another county and are new residents of McHenry County must appear before the County Clerk or a Deputy Registrar and register in McHenry County. Two ID'S are required, and one must bear current name and address. Please contact the County Clerk;'s Office for information if you wish to register with a local deputy registrar. You are invited to join in for snacks, spirits, and smiles to help them celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the First National Bank of Marengo. The mixer will be held at The First National Bank of Marengo Huntley Banking Center, 11700 Route 47, Hundey. Village Completes Agreement with Cambridge Homes, Inc. American Legion Annual Steak Fry The Village of Huntley has annexed a 240 acre parcel of property located at the Northeast comer of Haligus and Reed Roads. The property will be developed by Cambridge Hones, Inc., an Illinois corporation As outlined in the annexation agreement, the project will contain approximately 730 dwelling units - 545 units on single family lots, 185 on townhouse lots. In connection with the development of the property the developer has agreed to build a deep well, a 500,000 gallon water storage facility and a water treatment system, if required to meet water quality standards enforced by the lEPA or US EPA. The developer has agreed to convey all right, title and interest in and to the improvements to the Village upon completion and acceptance of construction of the improvements. The Village has agreed to accept and maintain the improvements provided the same are completed in accordance with the plans and specifications. Because a flood plain extends diagonally through the site, detention ponds will be constructed. The main detention pond will drain to the north A small southeastern comer drains to the east. As required by Village Ordinance, the development agreement includes a park improvement donation of 23 acres, or $805,000. The proposed park improvement plan includes approximately 12 acres, or $420,000, which leaves a cash SUBDIVISION PHASE ONE balance of $385,000 which wiU be allocated as the plan is developed. The land will be graded and seeded and a path system (which could include an 8 foot sidewalk) connecting the two park areas along the neighborhood street will be provided. A water main to each site and ingress and egress to each site also will be included. The Park District will develop the design of each site. The annexed real estate is located within the Township of Grafton, the Huntley Library District, the Huntley Fire Protection District, and the Huntley School District. Huntley Library Announces Expanded Hours The Huntley Library recently expanded their hours. They are now open on Sunday aftemoons from 1 pm until 5 pm. Library hours now are: Sunday 1 pm - 5 pm Monday Closed Tuesday 9 am - 8 pm Wednesday 9 am - 8 pm Thursday 9 am - 8 pm Friday 9 am - 5 pm Saturday 9 am - 3 pm K of C Tootsie Roll Fund-Raiser Mayor Jim Dhamer and Govemor James Edgar have both signed petitions designating September 20di and 21st as "Help Mentally Handicapped Citizens Days". St. Mary Catholic Church of Huntley Knights of Columbus will participate in the statewide drive to raise funds for the mentally handicapped by selling Tootsie Rolls. Members will be collecting donations on these two days. You can't miss them in their bright yellow and red aprons at most of the Huntley businesses. This statewide drive involves over 330 Knights of Columbus councils in Illinois. Last year the Illinois members of the Knights raised about $1.6 million to benefit mentally handicapped citizens in Illinois. Per Huntley chairman Fred Skimel, members of the local council will be out in force in an attempt to raise over $1000. Since Illinois started this Continued on Page 2 The Huntley American Legion Post #673 will be hosting it's annual Steak Fry fund-raiser this Saturday, September 21, from 5 pm to 8:30 pm. Dinner includes a large steak, potatoes, salad, and rolls. Hamburgers vidll be available for children. Parkside Pub To Host Pig Roast By Beth Berndt The Huntley Youth Football League would like to expand it's program, and hopefully with the communities support it will be able to do just that. The Parkside Pub will be holding the 2nd Annual Pig Roast to benefit the Huntley Youth Football League. Parkside owners Mark and Cindy McDonald are expecting a much greater turnout for this years event. Last year people from all over the county came and enjoyed barbecued pig and beef as well as various salads and side dishes donated by the football parents. Tickets may be purchased in advance from the Huntley Youth Football players, at the Parkside, or that night at the door. Parkside is located on Main Street in downtown Huntley, across from the Town Square. For more information, please call Cindy at 669-1633. Royal Doulton Contest Winners The Royal Factory Outlet Shop sponsored a drawing during the Labor Day Weekend Sidewalk to introduce their collection of giftware and nurseryware featuring Beatrix Potter characters such as Peter Rabbit and Jemima Puddleduck.
