Coupled with his other sales. Bean is having a banner year. Bean's vast experience is derived from farming in the Hampshire/Huntley area where, along with his wife, Joyce, they raised their family. He entered real estate about sixyearsagoandstarted with Ventura Associates in 1994. He is a member of the Northern Illinois Regional Multiple Listing, the McHenry County Association of Realtors, and the Farm and Land Institute. Though specializing in farm sales, the experienced staff at Ventura also helps to back up his industrial and residential deals. Bean can be reached at Ventura Associates at 708/669-5255. Huntley American Legion and Auxiliary hold installation The American Legion and Auxiliary held their installations of officers August 19,1995. Auxiliary officers installed were: President-Arlene Mattingly,Vice-President- May Chesak, Secretary-Marilyn Eckman, Treasurer-Betty Zirk, Historian- Mary Lesch, Chaplain-Phyllis GUssendorf, Sgt. of Arms-Betty Zirk, Asst. Sgt. of Arms-Vera Rasmusen, Installing officers-Jessie Banker, Installing Chaplain-Mable Schultz, and installing Sgt. of Arms-Vi Jurs. Legion officers: Commander- Loralee Stump, Senior Vice- Joe Schaller, Junior Vice - Thomas Harman, Finance officers-Ed Glissendorf, Adjutant-Herb Glissendorf, Chaplain- Bob Zirk, Sgt.of Arms-George Lesch, Service officer- Don Hardy, Installing ofiicer- Virgil Banker, Installing chaplain - Gordon Gable, Installing Sgt. of Arms-Bob Magalla. Shoppers enjoyed Huntley's Homestead Days Dawn Ellison of Engraving Unlimited had a booth at Himtley Homestead Days. Dick and Karen Kohley stopped by to admire her display. Village Board presents July 27 meeting minutes The regular meeting ofthe board of trustees ofthe Village of Huntley was called to order at 7:07pm on July 27,1995. In attendance were Mayor Dhamer, Trustees Becker, Paulsen, Eckel, Lamb and Todd. Also in attendance were Administrator Nelis, Acting Police Chief Hewitt, Public Works Director Schwartz, Building Inspector Ehrke, Village Engineer Blecke and Attorney Coppedge. Trustee Shamhart arrivedat 7:1 Ipm. Consent Agenda ,1 The following items were <(jj|uested to be removed from the consentagenda; ItemsD and G. Items remaining on the consent agenda were item A (minute approval - June 22 and July 6), item B (TIF payout eligibility - police capital $250.03), item C (TIF payout- bill approval - police capital), item E (resolution authorizing the removal of certain delinquent accounts from the water / sewer accounts of the Village of Huntley), item F (approval of year end treasurer report), and item H (motion authorizing payment to Jerry Bratcher). Motion made by Trustee Eckel to approve theconsentagenda, seconded by Trustee Lamb. Roll call vote: Trustees Becker, Paulsen, Eckel, Lamb and Todd, all ayes. Trustee Shamhart absent. D - Resolution Authorizing the sale of municipally owned property - Motion to approve the sale of the 1993 Caprice Classic, VIN #1GIBL5379PW125679 made by Tmstee Paulsen, secondedby Trustee Becker. Roll call vote:Trustee Becker, Paulsen, Lamb, ayes. Trustees Eckel andTodd,nays. Mayor Dhamer, aye. Motion passed. G. Approval of Weiss Farm Preannexation agreement -Trustee Becker stated that he felt the village should slow down a little bit. He asked "Why are we in such a hurry for more residential development? Where will the money come from for the education of the children? It costs about $4,500 to education a child. There will be only houses; no commercial development." Trustee Eckel reminded the board that there would be no impact on the sewer plant because they have an agreement with the Village of Lake in the Hills. Motion made by Trustee Todd to approve the Weiss farm preannexation agreement, seconded by Trustee Eckel. Roll call vote: Trustees Paulsen, Eckel, Lamb, Shamhart and Todd, ayes. Trustee Becker, nay. Mayor's Report -Mayor Dhamer reported that several people had called him about burying the cable. Trustee Eckel said he had talked to the City Electrical Engineer for San Diego, California. San Diego is one of the biggest users of undergroundcable. Theengineertold Eckel that what they use is a solid dialectic cable and it works real well for only about two to three times the cost of overhead cable. Administrator's Report - no report Attorney's Report - Attorney Coppedge reported that the FPA hearing is tentatively scheduled for October 25 & 26. Coppedge also informed the board that Prime may be asking for an extension on the Wing Point project. Attomey Coppedge said he has met with every department concerning the codification ordinance, and there are still many inconsistencies. He suggested this be put on hold until more meetings can be held to clarify the ordinance. Coppedge reported that Trustee Becker asked about the village acquiring certain propert>' and he informed him that if the village decides to acquire properfy for public purposes, it can be condemned if need be. Trustee Becker then asked if it would be possible to draw up an agreement for first right of refusal rather than condemning the properfy and Coppedge replied that if the property owners agreed to it, it could be done. Engineer's Report - nothing to report Department Reports Building Department - Inspector Ehrke distributed a memo concerning the business registration ordinance. He asked the board for a date to hold a public hearing and Aug. 3 was agreed upon. Pohce Department - nothing to report Public Works Department - Public Works Director Schwartz reported that a letter had been sent to all the residents on Myrtle St. informing them of the village's plan. Public Comments - none Old Business - Trustee Shamhart reported that he doesn't want to grant any exemptions to the waste holding facility ordinance, but would be willing to grant variances. New Business - Trustee Lamb asked if theboard would consider requiring a deposit on the water bills. She felt it would help the village clerk collect payment on delinquent water bills.
