Growing Scene Garden Center Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Pipeline Proposed thru Rural Huntley
Lakehead Pipe Line Company, Inc has filed application with the ^llinois Commerce Commission ^PCC) proposing construction of approximately 100 miles of pipeline from McHenry to Will counties. The route, as currently proposed, will run through rural Huntley.
On May 29lh a meeting will be held with the ICC lo establish the schedule for the remaining ICC process and hearings. Lakehead filed written testimony with the ICC on May 10.
Agents for Lakehead are currently conducting a land survey to finalize details of the proposed
route, feasibility of proposed easement widths, and any special arrangements needed for individual areas. The survey data, and information about market values of land in Huntley will be used in negotiations with the individual homeowners that will be affected if the pipeline is constructed.
Lakehead has established an office in Elgin in an attempt to be accessible and responsive lo landowners along the proposed route. The office is located in Suites C & D, 561 Tollgaie Road, Elgin, Illinois, 60120. The telephone number is 742-2635. The FAX number is 742-1263.

Huntley experienced the kind of rains this week that should prove lo be a good source of "remember when" stories for years lo come.
According to Mayor Jim Dhamer, 5 1/2 inches of rain fell in a 30 hour period, Sunday night and Monday. Memorial Day Parade Monday, May 27,10:30 am
The Huntley Memorial Day Parade will be held May 27, starling at 10:30am.
Parade participants will begin lining up anytime after 9:30am on the west side of Woodstock Su-eet facing south. The parade will start from in front of the Huniley American Legion, travel cast up Main Street to South Church Street, lo Mill Street, then south
on Dean Su-ect to the cemetery.
A Memorial Day ceremony will be held at the cemetery following the parade. Luncheon will be served at the legion hall after the ceremony.
Anyone, organization or business, interested in joining the parade can call Bob Eckman to sign up, 669-5754. All events are free of charge.
Park District Bulls Ticket Winners
The lucky winners, of the Huntley Park District Bulls and Orlando Playoff tickets, are Joel and Pam Popenfoose.
Joel and Pam Popenfoose were the winners of the Huntley Park District's raffle drawing for two tickets to the tenth home game of the Bulls and Orlando Playoff series! When asked who he would take, Joel said that it could cause some "discord" in his family since his wife, son and best friend have all expressed their desire to go! We wish him well in his selection! $400.00 was raised and will be used toward the renovation of the ball diamond equipment in 01' Timer's Park.
The winning ticket was drawn by Officer Hoffman of the Huniley Police Department.
