Village Board Minutes
The Regular Meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held in the Board Room of the Village Hall on Thursday, May 11, 1989, and brought to order by the President at 8:00 pm.
Roll noted the following present: President Dhamer, Trustees Wicke, Borowicz, Brown, Hoeft and Greve. Also attending were Attorney Kukla, Village Engineer Schwegel, Chief of Police Rossi, Public Works Director Nimbar and Building Inspector Schaller.
The minutes of the last Regular Meeting of April 13, 1989 were examined and there being no additions or corrections they were approved by motion by Trustee Greve and seconded by Trustee Borowicz, and roll noted all ayes.
The minutes of the Annual Meeting of April 25, 1989 were approved as presented by motion by Trustee Hoeft and seconded by Trustee Greve, all Trustees voted aye and the motion carried.
Expenses were then discussed. After review, a motion was made by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Brown, to approve payment of same, roll noted all ayes, motion carried and the clerk was instructed to make their payment. A listing of same is attached hereto.
The fmancial reports were brought to the Board. After checking same. Trustee Greve questioned the Capital Development fee due the Village from Bakleys 13th Addition which was payable at the time of approval of the Preliminary Plat. The clerk was instructed to notify the Bakleys that the $750.00 X 2.346 acres was due and payable at that time. A motion was made by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Brown, to accept the Treasurer's Report and upon roll call all Trustees voted aye and the motion carried.
The Clerk then swore in the newly elected officers of the Village Board of the Village of Huntley, namely President Dhamer, Trustee Hoeft, Russ and Gow and they were welcomed by the present board.
A resolution was read by the Clerk honoring Trustee Brown for his years of service to the Village. A motion was made to adopt this Resolution by Trustee Hoeft, seconded by Trustee Greve and upon roll call, all ayes, motion carried and a copy attached hereto.
The new Trustees then took their place at the Board Table.
President Dhamer then read his appointments for the 1989-1990 fiscal year. He expects the Board to recognize the fact that we need Mary Lou to help Pat and she should be compensated. He also reminded the Board that the Collector, and appointed Clerk, Pat Susanke, would be needing additional help due to the fact that the Clerk's work would now be done at the Village Hall. The only applicant, Bev Sweeney requested to work 2 or 3 days a week at $5.25 an hour. Attorney Kukla advised that if Ms. Susanke were to take Collector/Clerk job, the Board needed to adopt an ordinance to appoint a Clerk/Collector. A motion was made by Trustee Greve, seconded by Trustee Hoeft, to adopt said ordinance upon roll call all ayes, motion carried.
Trustee Greve declined the President's appointment for the Public Works, Sewer/Water Committee: reason being he felt being on so many committees spreads him pretty thin, and he would like it to be known that he will try to be there when he can but may not be able to make everyone like he has in the past. President Dhamer felt they should be left as is and Trustee Greve will do the best he can.
Thereafter a motion was made by Trustee Hoeft, seconded by Trustee Russ, to accept the President's appointments. Roll noted: Borowicz, nay; Hoeft, aye; Russ, aye; Greve, aye; Wicke, aye; Gow, aye; motion carried. A list of appointments, attached hereto.
Before the Clerk left her seat on the Board she was honored by the Village Board with a tetter from Trustee Greve (a copy is attached hereto), a dozen red roses and a plaque. At this time Pat Susanke took the clerk's position on the Board. Mary Lou Hardy retired.
President Dhamer presented the first order of business as the Bernat annexation of the 13.2 acres. Attorney Kukla at this time opened a Public Hearing for the annexation of property between Mr. Bernat, and the Village of Huntley. There being no questions regarding this matter the Public Hearing was closed.
