Huntley C. A.G. initiates Blockwatch
The Huntley chapter of Communities Against Gangs (CAG) will hold a"Blockwatch" meeting on Wed., Feb. 7, at 7;30pm in the Huntley grade School Gym to kick off this new program. The public is encouraged to attend.
The Blockwatch Committee of Communities Against Gangs is requesting the community' s help and consideration because both the town and the police department need your
input. Blockwatch programs have proven to help house by house.
A grass-roots movement has been working across America. The McHenry County SherifPsPoUceand Communities Against Gangs are implementing this program in Huntley because they care. It's time for everyone to join in.
The Blockwatch committee is looking for block captains. All it entails is going to houses on your
block, dropping off some literature, getting your neighbors' names and phone numbers, and getting them to call other neighbors when they see suspicious activities. Specifics will be explained at a two-part meeting headed by Scott Fabro of the McHenry County Sheriffs Police.
The Blockwatch program is for every resident, both young and old. The CAG organization promotes the
activation of people who want to take an active role in the elimination of crime and gangs in their community. They care about children and want the right things to happen for them. In today's world it requires a joint effort.

Harris Bank promotes two employees
The Board of Directors of Harris Bank Huntley announced the appointment of Diane M. Robinson to the position of Assistant Vice President and Cashier, and Sherry L. Franz-Perko to the position of Assistant Vice President.
Robinson is a ten-year employee of the Harris organization. In Oct. of 1994, Robinson assumed the duties of cashier at Harris Bank Huntley, coming from Harris Bank Hoffman- Schaumburg, where as assistant cashier. In addition to her duties as cashier, Robinson also serves as Compliance Officer and Security Officer for the bank.
Franz-Perko began her career with Harris Bank Huntley in 1981. Over the years, Franz-Perko has served in various areas ofthe bank. In addition to her duties as a loan officer covering the bank's consumer loan products, Franz-Perko serves as the bank's CRA Officer and Marketing Manager.
Harris Bank Huntley employees Diane Robinson (I) and Sherry Franz-Perko (r) were recently promoted to the positions of Assistant Vice President and Cashier, and Assistant Vice President, respectively.
ECaP support group plans meeting
ECaP (Exceptional Cancer Patients), the only life-challenging ilhiess support group in the Northwest suburbs, will hold a meeting on Feb. 7 at 2:00pm and again at 7:00pm in the McHenry Health Food Store,
located at 4705 W. Elm in McHenry. Pre-registrationis requestedby phone or in person. Walk-ins are welcome, too. The only cost is by donation. For information call (815)455-3081 or (815)363-6848.
ECaP was founded in 1978 by Dr.Bemie Siegel, author of "Love, Medicine and Miracles,'' to provide emotional support, education and hope for people faced with chronic or life-challenging illnesses.
Huntley Seniors Club plans gambling trip

Alice Jordi, activity director for the Huntley Senior Citizens Club, announced that she is taking reservations for the Bell Two Riverboat Casino at Clinton, Iowa on April 10.
The cost of the trip is $11, which includes the motorcoach, lunch and $5.00 rebate tokens.
The coach leaves from Trinity Lutheran ChurchinHuntley on Wed., April 10at8:00amandretums around 6:00pm.    .
