In late December 1992, The Fryer Company, Inc, a Carpentersville based distributor of microscopes, measuring and imaging equipment, moved into a newly remodeled portion of the vacant Wabash Data Tech complex. The Fryer Company had outgrown their Carpentersville facility and needed the new space. Later the company took over the rest of the Data Tech Complex and two years ago started remodeling.
Using Russ Warner Construc¬ tion as general contractors, the Fryer Company has renovated the almost 57,(X)0 square foot building at 11177 Dundee Road
(next to the Police Station).
Now the Huntley Tech Center, the building has been converted into 7 individual units. Three tenants occupy the four completed Units.
Fryer Company, Inc. occupies Unit 1, approximately 25,000 square feet; 15,000 sq ft of general office space (on two levels), 10,000 sq ft of warehouse space, a prototype model shop, and a skylighted lunch room and break space. The Huntley-based staff numbers 42; an additional 20 people staff offices in Minneapolis, MN, Cincinnati, OH, and Pittsburgh, PA.
Units 2, 3, and 7 are not yet
occupied. These units are 15,520 sq ft, 5,150 sq ft, and 1915 sq ft, respectively.
The Huntley Park District occupies Units 4 and 5 (7215 sq ft). Huntley Park District Teen Center opened on August 4. The Workout Room, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, will open on September 2. Park District staff will preview the equipment, programs and classes, and offer tours of the facility August 19 through August 23.
Unit 6 is occupied by Huntley Chiropractic Center (1745 sq ft). Dr Awe, previously on Route 47, moved in April of 1997.
McHenry County Extension office's Master Gardener, Charlie Becker of Huntley, performed judging duties at the McHenry County Fair, with Kira Cassidy of Huntley Harvestors watching closely.

Fun Fair & Craft Show At St. Mary Church
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus will be holding a Craft Show and Fun Fair on Saturday, August 9th from 9am until 3pm. It will be held in the church parking lot and will offer crafts, games, prizes, food and lots of fun. Admission is free. Come and enjoy and in the process you will be helping the less fortunate, including Tuming Point an organization for mothers and their children in time of need.
