Grafton Township Open House
The Flag was raised by Boy Scout Mike Putze and Robert Zirk at the Grafton Township Open House on June Mth.
A Food Pantry tour was a part of the Open House Grafton Township hosted June 14th, where taxpayers were given the opportunity to view the new addition to the Township offices. A new Supervisor's office has been added with adjoining food pantry. Government surpluses, which includes peanut butter, orange juice, hamburger, green beans and many other items, are available to the needy who qualify.
All other canned goods, paper
products, fruit, vegetables, bakery, eggs, frozen meats, soaps and other items too numerous to mention, are donated by clubs, churches, local businesses, scouts, organizations, professional people, and individuals. Grafton Town¬ ship appreciates all these donations which are available to anyone in need. Mildred Ruth, Trudy Jurs, and the Board of Trustees wish to thank the many people who help make the Grafton Township Food Pantry a success.
Huntley Food Pantry is located at 10109 Vine Street Huntley. The Food Pantry is part of the Supervisor's Office, Mildred Ruth is Supervisor, Trudy Jurs is the Supervisor's secretary and takes care of the Food Pantry. Food Pantry hours are 9:00 am - 2:00 pm on Monday, Thursday and Friday.
Huntley Factory Shops Craft Show
Approximately 150 craft vendors will show their wares at the Third Annual Huntley Factory irjhops Craft Show to be held Friday, June 27, through Sunday, June 29.
The 65 manufacturer's factory outlet stores are located at the
intersection of 1-90 and Rt 47, south of Huntley.
Craft show hours are Friday and Saturday, 10 am to 5 pm, and Sunday, 11 am to 4 pm.

Off to a Fast Start Craft Fair June 22 Thurs, June 19
Cambridge Homes registered 16 sales during the month of May in Southwind, a new Huntley community currently planned for 224 single-family homes.
The fast start in Southwind is particularly satisfying because sales typically don't pick up until after model homes open in a new community, said Richard J. Brown, chairman and chief executive officer of Cambridge Homes. "The fast start in Southwind is a pleasant surprise because we are only into our second month of preconsu-uction sales of all new plans without the benefit of having model homes completed for visitors to see," Brown said.
"The recent success in Southwind is also encouraging because this is our first venture in McHenry County. Going into a new market is always challenging, and the fact that sales have been spread out among virtually every home design in both series bodes well for the future success of Southwind."
To date, the majority of buyers have been couples with young children, moving up from townhomes, Brown said.
Southwind includes nine all new single-family plans in two home series. The homes range from 1,456 to 2,781 square feet of living space and include three to five bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, and two-car attached garages. Each home is available with a basement designed to be finished into an

On Sunday, June 22 the 12th annual Town Picnic will be held in Deicke Park from 10am - 5pm. Parking is available in, either the Elementary or the High School parking lots.
There will be live music all day - a singer-storyteller for the kids and a sing-a-long. Lots of activities such as a Moon Walk, a Medievil Joust, an Orbitron, a petting zoo, the Pass, Punt & Kick Contest - Lots of food - a craft fair featuring over 20 crafters and lots more.

Legion Conducts Flag Ceremony
When a flag gets too old or worn to use it must be disposed of properly. To show the respect due this symbol of American freedom, the Huntley American Legion held a Flag Burning ceremony on Flag Day, Saturday, June 14.
