A re-enactment of the Last Supper takes place in fhe sanctuary. Male members of First Congregational will portray the Last Supper in costume, inviting worshipers to share in the Last Supper Communion at the Lord's Table. Following this, the events of Good Friday will be remembered in special music-the Chancel Choir and a guitar soloist providing that-and the spoken, dramatized word will close this service of remembrance. An Easter Sunrise Service is offered at 6:30am in the Sanctuary, with music provided by a guitar duet. A second Easter Service will be offered at 9am with plenty of music-the Chancel Choir and the Whitechapel Handbells providing that. Easter lilies will be displayed at both service. Between services, starting at 7:30am, Easter Breakfast will be served in the First Congregational Fellowship Hall. Both Easter worship and the Easter Breakfast are open to visitors. First Congregational invites you to share in our special Holy Week observances. The public is welcome. Annual Spring Rummage Sale The Women's Circle of the First Congregational Church of Huntley, located on the comers of Church & Main Streets, is hosting its Annual Spring Rummage Sale on Friday, April 4-8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, April 5-8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Unexpected treasures may be found so mark your calendars and plan to come on by. The goods on Saturday will be sold for "S2.00 a bag." Hope to see you there! Celebration of Resurrection Morning Star Ministries invites you to a special worship celebration on Resurrection Sunday, March 30, 1997 at 10:00 am. This special service will include the minisu-y of Rev. Derek Kuhn of Grace & Peace Ministries. Derek has served as a missionary in several nations carrying a desire to see the Kingdom of God come in great power in our generation. If you seek a refreshing, come expecting to receive a touch of life this easier. Nursery, Children's Church and Youth Ministry will be available. Spring Programs at Huntley Area Library The first week of April brings fun and reading back to the Huntley Area Library. On Wed. April 2nd from 4:00- 5:00, a Youth Storytime will be held. It will feature stories, crafts, and activities for children in kindergarten through 3rd grade. On Wed. evenings starting April 2nd, the Junior Great Books program will continue for children in grades 4, 5 and 6. Discussions will be held from 6:30-7:30. Pre-School Storytime for children ages 2 and 3 at two times. There will be a 9:30-10:00 class and a 10:30-11:00 class. New for Spring, will be an evening class for 4 and 5 yr. olds from 7:00- 7:30 also beginning on April 3rd. These storytimes will include stories, finger plays, games, felt board stories and art activities. All classes will run for a six week period. Please call the library at 669-5386 to sign up or stop by for more information. iSs.?*,*,; Breakfast With The Easter Bunny Deicke Park District will be hosting a breakfast with the Easter Bunny on March 29 from 9:15- 10:45. They'll do a small craft, have a story or two, and watch a video. There is a charge for breakfast. To make your reservation call 669-3180. Last week's story about breakfast with the Easter Bunny at Deicke Park suggested that this activity is free, and that reservations are not required. The Farmside regrets this Easter Egg Hunt at Deicke Park Come to Deicke Park on Saturday, March 29 for a great moming of Easter fun. There are a lot of activities planned including a visit from the Easter Bunny himself! An egg hunt with prizes will be held for kids up to the 4th grade. The egg hunt for preschoolers will be at 11am, for grades k-4 the hunt will take placed at 1pm. No registration is necessary, a donation will be collected. Huntley Lioness Plan Youth Bingo On Saturday, March 29, l-3pm, the Huntley Lioness Club will sponsor Youth Bingo in the Huntley American Legion Hall. Children ages 0-18 years old are invited to enjoy an afternoon playing bingo and winning prizes. Younger children may bring an adult along to help them. Refreshments will be served after bingo. The legion is located at Woodstock & Coral Sh-eets on the Town Square in Huntley A $1 donation per child is requested at the door. Huntley Middle School Sixth Graders Need Your Help! By Emily McMahon Pictured above are students from the sixth grade at Huntley Middle School along with our teacher, Mr. Jim Stotz. They are planning their annual spring trip to Atwood Outdoor Education Center this May. In order to raise money for the trip, we trade in aluminum cans for money. WE NEED YOUR CANS!!I For the next six weeks, you can drop off your crushed aluminum cans at the recycling shed. The recycling shed is located on the east side of Huntley High School. Please drop off your cans on Saturday, March 29, Saturday, April 5, and Saturday, April 19. You can drop off your cans at any time during the day.
