JoAnn Pfaff of Huntley receives her 20 year service pin from store manager, Ed Comos, of Jewei/Osco, I^ake Marion Rd., Carpentersville. JoAnn received the award, along with co-worker Pat HeniBungsen, for 20 years service for Jewel Foods, Inc. Both women started for Jewel on Jan. 21, 1970. Also present were Jewel officials Frank Eckstein, Joe Reinhofer and service manager, Pat Reed.

The Senior Center met on Wednesday at the Country Junction Restaurant. An anonymous donor treated the seniors to the luncheon at the newly opened restaurant on Rt. 20 in Harmony.
Charles E. Ernesti of Huntley was one of the area dairy farm families recog¬ nized earlier this month for quality milk production in 1989.
The local families were among 2,600 dairy farmer- members of Wisconsin Dairies honored because their herds produced quality milk between Sept. 1, 1988, and Aug. 1, 1989.
"It takes skillful commit¬ ment by these families to assure their herds are pro¬ ducing quality milk through- • out the year," says Jim Geyer, the cooperative's vice president-technology. "And, we recognise these producers for their commitment to provide consumers with a fresh, wholesome dairy product."
Members of Wisconsin Dairies have to meet several criteria to receive a quality milk award from their cooperative. Their herd's milk must hava a somatic cell count (SCC) less than 500,000 and it must have a standard plate count (SPC) less than 25,000. It must also test negative for antibiotics and other drug residues.
These measurements indicate the environment in which the cows are kept, a farmer's management of the herd and the cleanliness of the equip¬ ment used.
When these criteria are met, dairy farmers who market quality milk through Wisconsin Dairies can earn additional money in their milk checks. In fact, during calendar year 1989, dairy farmer-members of Wisconsin Dairies shared approximately $6 million in quality pre¬ miums in their milk checks.
Quality milk has longer shelf life when packaged for fluid use by consumers. When made into cheese, the major product marketed by Wisconsin Dairies, quality milk has a higher yield.

New VFW Post In Huntley
The VFW has formed a new post in Huntley. If you are a veteran your membership in the post would be most welcome. Monthly meetings are held in the American Legion Hall on the fourth Thursday each month at 8:00 P.M. Post commander is George Gosinski of Huntley. He can be reached evenings and weekends at 669-5285.
