Workers Donate Time To Huntley Prairie
Fifth grade parents and students donated a full day's labor on Sunday, May 27, to install landscape timbers for a prairie path.
Chuck Veach calls for more timbers after measuring the path. He designed the prairie and supervised the crew.
Over thirty runners participated in the Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run for the Special Olympics, June 10th. Hosted by the Huntley and Algonquin Police Departments, the runners started from Hardee's in Algonquin and crossed the finish line in Huntley's Deicke Park. A total in excess of $3,000 was raised for the 22nd Annual Illinois Special Olympic Games, June 15-17 in Normal, II.
Afterwards, the runners, their families and police and fire personnel enjoyed a picnic in Deicke Park.
