The siren was remounted on an extra large, even taller pole provided by the Village, to enable even more people to hear the 10:00 AM siren. The HFPD takes charge of sounding the civil defense siren for its regular testing and in case of an emergency. The well-groomed appearance of the Town Square is now improved thanks to the regular maintainance of the Huntley Park District. The regular monthly meeting of the Huntley Planning Commission was called to order at 7:35 p.m. by Chairman Wilmer Rohlwing on June 12, 1990. Those members of the board present were Jack Daum, Robert Schachtner, Paul Mercer and Ron Hahn. Also present was Mayor Dhamer. The minutes of the May 14, 1990, meeting were published in the newspaper. Mr. Daum moved to waive the reading of such minutes. Mr. Hahn seconded. Motion carried. The first order of business was presented by Mr. George Bernat. He showed plans for a building he plans to build in the Industrial Park. He introduced Mr. Jim Fish and Mr. Frank Gerardi, who will be operating their business in 16,000 square feet of the 32,000 square foot building. They are hoping for December occupancy. May 21, 1990, letter from Baxter ic Woodman was read. All Planning Commission members have received plans. In reviewing the plans, some of the questions raised were: about the docks being enclosed. The docks will be at truck level, concrete about 6" above blacktop with drains. They will have two inspection manholes. Mr. Gerardi s^d their company is Precision Metal Park Trips The Huntley Park District upcoming Youth Trips are: Lincoln Park Zoo. July 13. Bus leaves Deicke Park at 9:00 and returns at 3:00. Cost is $10. The Sword & The Amulet. July 20. Bus leaves Deicke Park at 8:30 and returns at 2:00. Cost is $10. Trips are by registration only. Call the park office, 669-3180. Please leave a message if no one is there. Special Event: Dinosaur Egg Hunt. July 19, 12-1:00, at Deicke Park. Fee is $ .50. On Your Mark—Get Set—Go! On your marks, get set. Go! Eric Grimes, Amanda Brettman, Katy Borowicz & Ashley Michelsen participate in the long jump at Huntley Park District's Pre-School Olympics held on Saturday, July 7 at Deicke Park. Participants competed in the Egg Run, Long Jump, Big Wheel Race, Backwards Run, Frisbee Throw & 50 Yard Dash. Winners were awarded a ribbon for each event.The best "All-Star Olympian" was Eric Grimes. Fabricators. They do light gauge sheet metal work. No pollutants or toxins are used. He stated that their place will be a show piece. They will be bringing 35 employees with them and figure they will need to hire 8-10 more. They have plans to expand beyond the 16,000 square feet. They are presently in Elk Grove Village and 92% of his employees will be coming out with them. The entire plant is air conditioned. No painting or plating will be done, all that is subcon¬ tracted out. The building will be all block and face brick masonry. They will be leasing half of building with option, eventually could take over entire building. Mr. Schachtner moved to accept the plans for Bernat's building for Precision Metal Fabricators. Mr. Hahn seconded. Upon roll call there were five (S) ayes and no (0) nays, motion carried. Permits can now be Issued on this building. The next order of business was presented by Ms. JoAnn ^ones, Insurance broker. She is interested in putting up an office building on Lot 6 on Route 47, next to Moerke's home. For such a building, she il requesting a B-2 zoning. She showed the board a sketch of plant. She wants a two-story with top on back 2/3rds of building. First floor will be 1,028 square feet. Frame structure with vinyl or aluminum siding. She showed a photo of a similar building and believes it will coordinate with the surrounding area. The building would be five feet from back lot. Ordinance calls for 2 foot back lot, would lose four parking spaces if she did that. Now plans 19 parking spaces. Will be 3-4 offices in building. Board said all rear lot lines should be the same. As far as screening the parking lot, Ms. Jones would be willing to accommodate as necessary. The total lot size is 66 x 132. Building is 32 x 50. the board felt a zero lot line in the rear would be the best. They also urged her to get a professional plan drawn up and return with that as preliminary plan. Mr. Mercer moved to accept the concept of plan presented by JoAnn Jonea for B-2 coning with addition of a variation of rear set back at lero (0) feet. Mr. Hahn seconded. Roll call vote was as follows: Schachtner, aye; Hahn, aye; Mercer, aye; Daum, pass; Rohlwing, aye. There being four (4) ayes and one (1) passing vote, motion carried.
