First Congregational Church Confirmation
First Congregational Church held a Confirmation Service recently at which time these students were received into membership. Shown with Rev. Woodruff, the Confirmation Class teacher, are: (1st row) Carrie Von Bossie, Rich Lange, Mandy Parks, Shante Zippe, Steve Martin, Jim Orgier-, . Huntley Lion of the Year

Lion Don Tessmer was recently honored by his fellow Lions when he was selected "Lion of the Year". Lion Norm Brettschneider presents Lion Don with a handsome plaque depicting this honor.

Surnmer Reading- Storyteller Program
The summer reading program's storyteller, Dorirta Kalson, on June 14, read The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and The Big Hungry Bear. The children made mouse ears out of paper and pipe cleaners and each got a strawberry sticker.
On Tuesday,June 19, Beth Ferris read The Very Busy Spider. A Pocket For Corduroy. The Sesame Street Pet Show and Ira Sleeps Over. The children made yarn spiders, Blue Ribbon Awards, and a Corduroy bear. They sang songs and did finger plays as well.
The Children's storyhour is held from 10-10:30 a.m. and the library is open for all ages on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9-11:30 a.m. until July 12th.
School Board Meeting
The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley Consolidated Schools, Huntley, IL. was held in the Central Office Building on May 17, 1990 at 7:30 p.m.
The meeting was called to order by the President at 7:30 p.m: Upon roll call the folUowing members answered present: Ms. Ahrens, Mrs, McDonald, Mr. Crabill, Mr. Greye, Mr. Heayey, Mr. Bauman. Absent: Mr. Freeberg. All present joined in the pledge to the flag.
1. Mr. Greve moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve the minutes of the April 19 regular meeting as written.

2. Mr. Greve moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve the minutes of the April 19 executive session.

3. Mr. Heavey moved, Mr. Greve 2nd to approve the resolution that the offer from Bank One for $1,350,000 par value site Acquisition Contractual Purchase Bonds be accepted.

Father's.Day Winner
Kim Cecil, manager at Country Junction Restaurant, presents a Sony Walkman to John Mattingly of Huntley, winner of the Father's Day Drawing. John is not only a father of 2 boys, but also grandfather of 3 gi'rls & 1 boy and great-grandfather of 1 girl. He entered the drawing while attending breakfast on Sunday.
