MAISON DES CREPES"
(HOUSE OF CREPES)
Crepes and beverages were served in a quaint French Cafe setting at the Huntley Jr. High on Wednesday, January 11th between 7 and 8 a.m.
Ail of this delightful creation (food, music, decorations and more) was provided by Mr. Wayne Blake and his French class.
Each quarter 7th grade students of the elective French class choose a final project for the course - this past quarter's students chose a French cafe activity.
Everything was so nicely done. All of us who attended would like to express our appreciation for the unique opportunity to visit a French cafe.
Huntley Welcomes New Business Wander Inn
John and Wanda Berlin of Carpentersville are the new proprietors of "Wander Inn' Tavern", located on Main Street in Huntley.
They feature a Friday Fish Fry, a Daily Lunch Special including a dinner plate and sandwich special, weekend specials and home made soup.
The couple, along with the help of friends, remodeled and redecorated the tavern in 4-1/2 days. "No one said I'd be able to do that," said ' John. But he did, with special thanks to friend Steve Bellock (carpenter and right- hand man).
The tavern and restaurant business is not new to either John or Wanda, as they have
each worked both full and part time in this type of business for over 10 years. "What was once one day a week, is now a full time job," according to Wanda. John does the cooking on the weekends and the Friday Fish Fry. Carol McCune does the cooking during the week.
They hope to make Wander Inn a place for families and couples to enjoy good food and good company. Men's, Women's and Mixed dart leagues are an attraction that John and Wanda hope will be appealing. John and Wanda have 4 boys; Adam 7, John Jr. 6, Shaun 3, and Scott 2.
Says one satisfied toddler about the Fish Fry, "It was absolutely delicious!"
