Congratulations Allison Weir - Poppy Poster Winner
The American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Illinois at Bloomington, notified Huntley American Legion Auxiliary that Allison Weir placed Ist in her age group at state for her Poppy Poster.
Each year our Huntley School District Art Students enter the Poppy Poster Program that the Legion Auxiliary holds. All posters are judged at Huntley at our Unit level. First place posters in each age group are then sent to Department for further judging on State level, along with other Illinois School's First Place Winners.
Allison placed 1st in her age group, 6th it 7th grades in Huntley Unit Level, and was awarded $10. She was awarded $40 at State Level at the American Legion Auxiliary Convention in Springfield, II. on July 20th.
We want to thank teacher, Eric Mychko and all the art students who participated in the Poppy Poster Program this last May.

The Huntley Library District will be offering free drinks of lemonade at their booth of the Square during this Saturday's Sidewalk Sale. Everyone will be offered a free chance to win the New York Public Library Desk Reference Book, pages it pages of fascinating information the entire family will enjoy. Huntley Park District
Before &. After School Care
Huntley Park District is taking registrations for its Extended Time for Children (Etc....). Seven different programs are being offered: 5 Days AM ($2.50 per day); 5 Days PM ($5.25 per day for the Ist child, $4.75 per day for the 2nd child in the same family); 5 Days AM it PM ($7.75 it 7.25 per day); 3 Days PM ($5.25 it $4.75 per day); 5 Days AM it 3 Days PM ($7.75 & $7.25 per day); Kindergarten, 5 Days, PM only, ($7.00 per day); Kindergarten 3 Days, PM only, ($7.00 per day). Children will be transported to and from Huntley Elementary School by bus. Parents are responsible for bringing the children in the morning and picking them up in the evening at the Deicke Recreation Center. Times for the program are: 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Time for early dismissal from school is included. Park District Meeting Minutes
The regular meeting of the Huntley Park District was called to order at 7 pm, on Wednesday, July 25, 1990. Present were Commissioners Knott, Yerke, Olson and Mercer, Attorney Cowlin, Betsey Warrington and Paul Ostrander.
Mrs. Mercer made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 27 meeting, seconded by Mr. Yerke. All voted aye and the motion carried.
Mr. Olson moved to accept the Treasurer's report with a second by Mr. Knott. All ayes and the motion carried.
The bills for the month were distributed. Mr. Yerke made a motion to pay all bills, seconded by Mr. Olson. All ayes and the motion carried.
Paul Ostrander's report included our damage claim to Commonwealth Edison, remove and replace dead trees, part of trail moved at 01' Timer's, ball diamond completed at 01' Timer's, Lioness shelter completed, will seed around shelter, tables and grills ordered for shelter and shelter posts on Cole Shelter need repair. The board asked Paul to get
prices on different types of repair for the Cole Shelter posts.
Under safety report, the insurance company will not pass the large slide at Ol' Timer's Park in the next inspection. The board agreed the slide should be removed.
Betsey Warrington reported day camp, pre-school program, extended care schedule, personnel and budget.
The requests for use of park facilities were reviewed. All of the requests were approved.
The board discussed the letters sent this month to the Village of Huntley and the Village of Lake in the Hills. They were about the decision of Lake in the Hills to keep all the developer donation in their village, even though the homeowners will be residing in the Huntley Park District.
Mrs. Mercer moved to adjourn, seconded by Mr. Yerke. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm.
These minutes are subject to approval at the next regular meeting.
