Girl Scouts End of the Year Ceremony Memorial Day
May 24th was the date chosen for the Huntley Girl Scouts to be honored for their achievements of the past year. Following the flag ceremony, awards were presented to the girls by their leaders. Many of the girls bridge from Daisys to Brownie, from Brownie to
Honors Night
Juniors, or from Juniors to Cadettes.
A delicious pot luck supper followed. Congratulations to all the Scouts and a "thank you" to all the adults who have helped make this year of scouting an enjoyable learning experience for the girls.
The Huntley High School held "Honors Night" on Tuesday, May 24, 1988, at 7:00 p.m. in the Band Room. The awards honored students for achievements during their school year and a short reception followed in the Study Hall.

On Monday morning a group representing the Huntley and Union American Legion, the American Legion Auxiliary, Lions Club, Lioness Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts and Huntley's School Band assembled in front of the Legion to begin the parade to the cemetery.
At the cemetery, a ceremony honoring our deceased veterans was held. Speakers included Rev. Ronald Woodruff, and Donald Enstrom. Readings were given by Brett Blank and May Chesak. The band performed and the Boy Scouts laid a wreath at the foot of the flag pole. The Girl Scouts placed flowers on
many of the graves and the townspeople watched and listened and remembered.
The weather was ideal. Perhaps that was why the large group of people participated in this annual event. Whatever the reason, it was great to see all of you out therel
