Ed Eckman of Church Street Huntley filed a formal objection to Charles Ruth, Emesti Road, Huntley, name appearing on the Township Ballot for the position of Supervisor. Mr. Eckman filed a complaint Monday evening with acting Gerk Mary Lou Hardy. He was accompanied by his employer Vemon Brunschon, Road Commissioner of Grafton Township. Mr. Brunschon is seeking re-election. His opponent is LeRoy Wirsing also of Huntley. Mr. Ruth's name was placed on the ballot after the untimely death of his father, Howard Ruth on February 6th. This was done at a meeting held on February 17th by those citizens of Grafton Township who had signed Howard Ruth's Petition. The meeting was held under the supervision of Attorney Herb Franks. The Election Board meeting will be held on Monday, March, 1977 in Room 101 at the Courthouse in Woodstock. Illinois at 2:30 pm. This hearing is open to the public and all concemed citizens are uged to attend. Chuck Ruth Mr. Eckman stated thaf he was not against Chuck Ruth. He said that he is objecting to the legality of the procedure whereby Mr. Ruth'sname was placed on the ballot. He said that Mr. Brunschon had toldhim that Ia<t Monday, February 28th, was the last day that an objection could be made of this type and thaf he had signed an objection with the acting town clerk. He said thaf he wanted to see thaf the law was followed and has hire an attorney Bernard Narasis to represent him. Mr. Eckman stated thaf a hearing would have to be held within five day by the Election Board at the Courthouse in Woodstock. He stated that this board is ordinarily composed of the Town Clerk, Supervisor, and senior auditor. In this case, the Supervisor is Mildred Ruth who was appointed by the board to fill the vacancy left by her husbands death, acting Town Oerk, Mary Lou Hardy, who was appointed to this position as Mr. Richard Enstrom, Town Clerk is on vacation, and Senior Auditor, Floyd Schmuck. Mr. Eckman stated that through his attorney he was objectingto Mrs. Ruth being on the Election Board as she is Charles Ruth's Mother. He said he believed a judge would be appointed in her place. Mr. Eckman is a 1973 graduate of Huntley High School and attended MCC. Two years ago this April, he was hired to work for the Township under Mr. Brunschon. Mr. Bmnschon is supporting Joe Schultz of Crystal Lake, who is mnning for Township Supervisor. If Mr. Ruth'sname is taken off the ballot, Mr. Schultz's name will be the only one to appear, unless, of course, the Board should replace with the name oiP a deceased man. If this is the case and Howard Ruth'sname should appear and he were elected. Gerk Enstrom stated that he would not be eligible to accept the position. Reports of a water shortage in Huntley are entirely erroneous, reports Mr. William Leggee, Director of the Chancel Choir of the First Congregational Church. He predicts there will be a thorough inundation of river water, muddied somewhat by sea water on March Sth. In spite of a hole in their bucket, the three little fishes will ease dovwi the Moon River (paralleled by the Swanee) to Moonlight Bay. The troubled waters of Old Man River will be bridged by a dmken sailor going to row his boat by the beautiful sea. COME ONE-(XYMEAUL Sthtrm Dnr MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE HUNTLEY PARK DISTRICT The regular meeting of the Huntley Park District Board was held on Wednesday, Febmary 23ttJ, 1977 at SiOO P.M. The meeting was called to order by President Parisek, with Commis¬ sioners Deicke, Parisek and Ruth present and Commissioners ' Mackeben and tures absent. j The secretary was asked to read the minutes of the previous meeting of 1/29/77. after which a motion was made by Mr. Ruth, seconded by Mr. Parisek, to approve the minutes as read. All commissioners voted aye and the motion carried. The treasurers report was fhen presented showing a balance in 'he checking accoun* of $32,618.51. A motion was made by Mr. Deicke, seconded by Mr. Parisek, to accept the repdr* as presented. All Commissioners voted aye and the report was filed for audit. The President then presented the monthly bills for payment, after which a motion was made by . Ir. Ruth, seconded by Mr. )eicke, to pay all bills as present- ^d. Upon roll call all Commis¬ sioners voted aye ant the motion carried. Mr. Ruth presented a commit¬ tee report on the tree planting project. They have decided to plant 2'/i to 3'/2 inch trees. The total amount to be spent on this project has been tabled till the next meeting. A discussion was held concem¬ ing stocking the new pond. Mr. Ruth is to check into this matter. Atty. Henry Cowlin entered the meeting at this point. Mr. Cowlin was recognized and presented the secretary with some election in¬ formation. He next s'ated that he is still checking into the triangle of land that the board still does not have their title fn. He said there seems to be no problem in this matter and it will be taken care of very shortly. Next Mr. Deike presented the board members with post cards picturing the park entrance. He has had a great many of these postcards printed np and they will be available very soon. Ther being no fur* her business to come before the board, a motion was made by Mr. Deicke, seconded by Mr. Ruth, to adjourn.
