St. Patrick Visits Huntiey

A new location hasn't changed the quality service yoii'U receive from John and Pam Garven, co-owners of Benico Ltd, in Huntley.
John and his wife, Pam, are the co-founders of Benico Ltd. which incorporated on April 6, 1983. The Garvens purchased the office building in downtown Huntley and moved there in December 1997.
On March 10, the-Garvens cut the red ribbon to officially open the new location of Benico, Ltd. at 11715 E, Main St. (on the square) in Huntley.
John and Pam are proud of the renovation of their new location. The office building has been elegantly remodeled. It's all the more impressive when you get a look at the
"History of the Building" scrapbook the Garvens have collected.
They found the building dates back to 1893 and was built to serve as Dr. Cook's medical office and the original bank in town. The original Mosler safe vault still remains intact in the building as an integral part of the architectur¬ al history.
The building has been home to a "showroom" for caskets for the undertaker, a pharmacy, office space for DFC, and Woodstock Memorial and Juntley Medical Center.
The current office space also includes a 5(X)-square- foot conference room, with a state-of-the-art multimedia system, which is available for rent to qualified people or
organizations.
Benico Ltd. markets indi¬ vidual insurance products such as hfe, disability, health, den¬ tal, Medicare Supplements, long term care, and annuities to individuals, including the self-employed and owners of businesses. Benico Ltd. also works with client companies and organizations as a bro¬ ker/consultant for all types of employer-sponsored benefit plans, including group insur¬ ance, retirement plans, and non-qualified executive com¬ pensation plans. In addition to selling various kinds of insur¬ ance and investment products for funding employer-spon¬ sored benefit plans, Benico provides several ancillary ser¬ vices to employers, including COBRA administration, on a fee basis.

Bye Bye^ Birdie

Tomorrow night, March 20, is opening night for Huntley High School's production of "Bye Bye, Birdie." The musi¬ cal comedy promises to be a smash hit, don't be the only one in town to miss it!
Tickets are $6 for adults aiid $4 for students and seniors. They are on sale now in the high school office or they can be purchased at the door. Show times are Friday and Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. For information, call 669-5171

Jane Thompson has resigned as head librarian for the Huntley Area Library District. Her resig¬ nation was presented to the Huntley Library Board and has been accepted.
Thompson admits, "This hasn't been an easy decision to make." Thompson says she has decided to leave for person¬ al reasons, with no provoca¬ tion and nothing but good feelings for Huntley. "I just felt this was the best time for me to choose to move on in my life," she said,
'*With the new library referendum passed and the building plans completed, but before the construction
has begun, the transition will be easier for a new peer son."
Thompson became Huntley's Librarian seven years ago when the Huntley Library District originated. She was the driving force in creating the current library and making Huntley's Library what it is now, not just a building full of books, but a building for the learn¬ ing experience.
Thompson also worked closely with architects and designers on creating the new library building, mak¬ ing it fit Huntley in form, function and aesthetics.
Everyone will miss her tremendously! We all wish her the best future possible.
