SANTA FUND CHRISTMAS PARTY
Santa Qaus is coming to twon soon.
Santa's Fund Christmas Party for all our Huntley kids, preschool thru 5th grade is as follows: Place: Village Square Date: Sat., December 17 Time: 2:00 p.m.
Santa Claus will come to the Village Square by his sled if we
have enough snow otherwise by his motorized vehicle.
He will greet all the young ones and crown the Snow Princess & Prince.
Following the Crowning, we will go to the Congregational Church Social Hall for entertaininent and refreshments.
Santa Oaus will then have a gift for each one and talk to you.
SENIOR CITIZEN CHRISTMAS PARTY
Santa's Fund will be holding your Christmas Party on Friday, Dec. 16th. Dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. Entertainment will follow. Then at 3:15 p.m. Hunt¬ ley's Swing Choir will be on hand to present their performace. This will highlight the party and we're sure you will agree when they're finished.
This is for all Huntley Seniors whether they belong to the club or not. We'd like to have a big turn our. Santa will also be on hand in
the afternoon. Also any of you who would like to bring center¬ piece decorations, it would be much appreciated.
Anyone needing a ride to and from the party call Louise Kreut¬ zer at 669-5657 or Dorothy Schall- er at 669-5010 after 5:00 p.m. Please feel free to Call. Also anyone who was not atthe last Srs metting and who also doesn't belong and would like to come, ' please call, so we can have an approximate idea of how many to plan for.

Santa'sFund is holding a roller skating party this year for all Jr. High and High School students. The following is the schedule: Date - Thursday, Dec. 22nd Time- 7:00 p.m.-9:30 p.m. Place - McHenry Roller Rink in McHenry, Dl

This year there will be no : decorations on the poles in the downtown Huntley area The , reason being that Commonwealth Edison ruled that the lighted decorations could be a hazard.
The Jaycees will be letting businesses and residents borrow
Village Square by Santa Claus. The Snow Princess & Prince will theti reign over the Christmas Party at the Congregational Church Social Hall.
Ballot boxes will be placed at various stores, so parents watch the stores and enter your child as many times as you like as long as they are 3 yrs. thru 7 years.

The rink is reserved for Hunt¬ ley only and skating and shoes will be free. Parents will be admittedlfree but will have to pay for their skates.
Let's all participate and fUJ the rink up with our Huntleyites. Posters will be posted at school for signing up, so we have an Idea of how mtny will be coming.

EARLY DISMISSAL
On December 15, Huntley sch¬ ools will be dismissed at 2:22 P.M. The early dismissal is to permit the staff to devote time to curriculum matters.
LIONS CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY
The Huntley Lions Club held their Christmas Party Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Huntley American Legion Hall with 73 members and guests in attendance. The Legion Auxiliary served a delicious tur¬ key dinner with all the trimmings. There was a gift exchange after the dinner and then dancing till 12:20 with the orchestra "The profs". Committee members in charge were Lions Dick Seller and Holly, Lee Henning and Rita and Ron Stroupe and Mary. Chairman Dick Seiler thanks all who helped make this a festive night.
MRS. MARKS TO GIVE CHRISTMAS CONCERT
A Christmas program of organ and choral music will be present¬ ed by Mrs. LeRoy Marks, organ¬ ist, and The Choraleftes, a ladies singing ensemble directed by Mrs. marks at Wesley Methodist Church in Elgin on Sunday even¬ ing, December 11th at 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. Marks will perform organ compositions by Langlais, Dupre, J.S. Bach, and Vierne. The Choralettes will sing varied Chr¬ istmas selections. The program is designed to reflect both the wonder and the joy of the season.
Mrs. Marks, organist at Wes¬ ley Church, received a Masters Degree in organ performance from Roosevelt University. She Continued on back page
VILLAGE BOARD MINUTES
The regular meeting of the Village Board of Trustees was held in the Board Room of the Village Hall on December 1, 1977 and brought to order at 8:00 P.M.
The following were present: President Enstrom, Trustees Ac¬ kman, Frank, Stroupe, Lohneis, Mercer and Eisenmenger. Also present were Frank Wellwertz of Baxter and Woodman, James Dhamer of the Planning Commis¬ sion and Percy Swanso, Public Works. Attorney Caldwell was absent due to weather conditions.
The November 3, 1977 minutes were presented to the Board. A brief discussion was had prior to acceptance which motion was made by Trustee Frank, seconded by Trustee Stroupe, and upon roll call, ail trustees voted and the motion carried.
The financial report of the Treasurer was reviewed and a motion was made by Trustee Stroupe, seconded by Trustee Frank, to accept the Treasurer's Report as submitted and also that since again the fihancial report by the auditing firm was not present¬ ed, the Clerk was to withhold payment of any invoice presented for this reason. Upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried.
The President than turned the meeting over to Mr. Wellwertz for the opening of bids for the following:

Bakley Construction - $23,525.91 - Comp. in 180 days - 10% bid bond
E.M. Melahn - $25,804.70 - Comp. in 120 days -10% bid bond
A & F Heating (Waukegsn) - $24,573.50 - Comp. in 150 days - $5,000 bid bond
Upon recommendation of Baxt¬ er and Woodman, a motion was made by Trustee Frank, seconded by Trustee Eisenmenger, to award the bid to Bakley Construc¬ tion, Huntley, Illinois, in the amount of $23,525.91 which award is subject to a thorough review of the bid by Baxter and Woodman, and if for any reason the bid is found in error or in noed of correction, the engineering firm is to advise the Board of any I amendment or the voiding of i same. Upon roll call, all trustees { voted aye and the motion carried.

Mr. Wellwertz recommended 'ha' 'he bid be awarded to the low bidder, Bakley Construction, Hu¬ ntley, Illinois, and a motion was made by Trustee Frank to that effect, seconded by Trustee Str- ' oupe, and again the award will be subject to review by the engineers and notification to the Board for any amendment or to void the award, it was also stipulated that a performance bond would be required on both awards by the bidder. Upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried.
Trustee Lohneis questioned Mr. Wellwertz on several street problems in the village. One in particular was acted upon, that being the north end of Church Street, which had been torn up. A motion was made by Trustee Frank, seconded by Trustee Mer¬ cer, to have the street department obtain #9 gravel for this section as a base until it can be resurfaced In the spring. Upon roll call, alt trustees voted aye and the motion carried. It^was also discussed that any contractors dfring worit fbr die village or within the village Umhs must meet with the village eng¬ ineers and other personnel to establish check points ta the progree of the work to Insure that spedfications ate met.
