1st Congregadonal Chnrch 125th Anniversaiy
The First Congregational Curch of Huntley 'celebrated their 125th Anniversary on Sunday, September II. Special comminion services were held at 9:30. The Rev. Dean Dalrymple of Egin gave the sermon "A Pilgrim People". Many of the congregation went back in memory while Rev. Dalrymple talked about the history of the church and the ministers who served here in the past. Following the service, a fellowship was held in the social hall and record books and pictures of the church since it was founded were on display.
At noon the congregation and guests enjoyed a bountiful dinner served by their neighbors ofthe Trinity Lutheran Church. Following the dinner a short program was presented. May Chesak read letters of congratulations from officers of the Illinois Conference, United Church of Christ and greetings from former Pastors and neiighboring churches who were not able to attend. A former Pasot who came to join in the celebration was Rev. Floyd Nelson of Rockford, and also attending was Mrs. Violet Heyl wife of Rev. Walter Heyl, a former Pastor. Other visits were Rev. Bloebaum of Algonquin Congregational Church and Refv. Ran¬ dall of the Dundee Congregational Church.
Community leaders who were guests were Mayor Donald Enstrom, Rev. L, Dudley Day and Rev. Frederick Harm. On this very special day, Father Day expressed the feelings of everyone present when he said, "This is a one family town". Two of the oldest members of the church were then acknowledged, Mrs. Neva VanNess and Mazie Blott.

Huntley Girl Scout registration will be on Tuesday, Setember 20 at 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the First Congregational Church. Regi¬ stration fee i» 53.00 for new Scouts and returning Scouts will pay $2.00. Any mother who is interested in being a leader may register also. Some girls may be placed on a waiting list if we can not get enough new leaders. But anyone wanting to be a Girl Scout or G.S. leader should register on Sept. 20. LEGION STEAK FRY SEPT. 18th
This year, the Huntley Ameri¬ can Legion Post #673 Steak Fry will be held at the Legion Home on Sunday Sept. 18 from 11:00 A.M. to 5 P.M. VIUAGEBOARD MINUTES
The Regular Meeting of the Village Board ot Trustees was held in the Board Room af the Village Hall oo September 1,19T7 and called - to order by the President at 8.00 P.Mv
Ptesent were the following: President Enstron, Trustees Frank. Mercer, Ackman. Eiaen- meager, Stroupe and Lohneis. Also attending were Percy Swan¬ son and Donald Schwegel.
The August 4, 1977 minutes were presented and there being no additions nor corrections, they stocd approved as presented.
The next order (^ business was to review of the financial reports. The Treasurer's Report was ap¬ proved by a motion by Trustee Stroupe and seconded by Trustee Frank, which the roll noted all ayes and the motion carried. Again, the management reports were discussed noting that there were no reports for the months of June, July nor August. The Qerk was instructed to withhold pay¬ ment of any invoices for this service until notified by the Board.
The bills for the current month were presented and reviewed. A motion was made by Trustee Ackman, seconded by Trustee Eisenmenger, to tpprove of the payment of same, and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried. A listing of said bills is attached.
President Enstrom then called on Mrs. Jan Evans, who was present in regard to tbe Zoning Board of Appeals recommenda¬ tion of her property. Mr. Terry Mohr gave a brief resume ia behalf of Mrs. Evans regarding the dedsioo of the Zoning Board of Appeals to deny her request. He advised the Board that in their petitimi an alternate was asked, namely; a variarlon for use of property to remain with Mrs. Evans only and to revert back to the orginal zoning of property ff tt was sold.
