Among the Huntley Fire Department Rescue Squad Team, five have completed the second stage In their training to become Para Medics. They are: Captain Al Wiesneth, Asst. Chief Paul 2aUer, Brian Spencer, Dave Veath and Dave Oldham. They started their training in 1972. It is a two part training course. There are some 12 men who have completed the 1st part of the Para Medic cotu'se. The second phase of their traifting is much more extensive and difHcult as they have to be able to administer medicine per doctors orders and to read ETG strips, etc. All of these men have paid fbr their own training. It takes many hours of hospital trotting as well as studying to achieve the title Para Medic. 'fS)lka Party atthe Hideway Aug. 21st The Annua] Lion's Oub Family ncnic will be held on Sunday, August 21st starting at 12:30 at Deicke Park. This year the club will roast a whole pig for the mdn course. Members are aaked to bring a dish to p«as and their own service- CKunes and prises will be available fot the young. On Sunday, August 21, Htutf- 1^ dtlarts can widti aad twM to Polka music at Tha Hldeway Lounge. The Polka Paty irlll feature Jerry Zahata ft his Happy Stats aod w(U begin at 6p.m. at the Bowl m Lanes' Hideway. TOWNSHIP AONORS HOWARD RUTH At the last Township roeettni^ a walnut plaque iatlM ikape of the State of IBtnois was presented ta Mrs. hfiidted Riitfi, In hoaor of her husband, tiie late {foward Ruth. Howard was the Grafton Si^perviaor for the last twleve years. His son. Chuck, who won the recent election for SupervisOT, watdied ac \aemoOtee tM^ved the award. The plaque read: In Memory of Howard C. Ruth for his Loyalty and Dedication as Grafton Township Supervisor served from April 5, 1965 to FchcMty 6,1977.
