SCENES FROM LAST YEAR'S LIONS CLUB BARBEQUE
Huntley's Senior Citizen's' Kitchen Concert Band is  still being recruited to entertain at different events in and about the area.    Recently the band has been playing in the towns of McHenry, Crystal Lake, Harvard,  Marengo and  Union and the group has been engaged , to play at three more events in June. On Saturday, June 17, they will
be   playing  their  makeshift!
instruments at the Kiwanis Club*
sponsored Senior Citizen Hobby
Fair in the town  square  in
Woodstock. The group will also
entertain at McHenry on the
20th and at Crystal Lake on the
26th.  Their first public musical
"Oldie Tune" renditions was .
given at the April 1, Fool's
Follies Show in Huntley aod the '
group has been entertaining at
various events each month since
that time.
I LIONS CLUB BARBEQUE JUNE 18th
Father's Day, June 18, 1978, the Huntley Lions Club will hold its annual Chicken Barbeque at the American Legion. This dii.ner is the organization's primary money-making project and all members and their wives work deligently to prepare the succulent meal.
Dinner consists of barbequed chicken, home baked beans, potatoes. ~ole slaw, roll, butter and beverage. To compliment the chicken, which is prepared by the men of the club over open barbeque pits, is a special barbeque sauce, prepared from a family recipe of Henry Marlowe, owner of Marlowe's Feed & Hatchery in Huntley. Homemade pies, prepared by the ladies ofthe club will also be available.
Serving time is from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Donation is: adults $2.""5. children $1.50, senior citizens 65 or over $2.00. Inside facilities, come "rain oi sHine".
SENIORS HOLD GARAGE & BAKE SALE
Huntley's Senior Citizens held their first Garage (or perhaps it should be called their Park Sale actually) in the town square park on Saturday morning with everything from home baked cookies and pi»'s to bird cages for sale. (Senior LJies are well known for their bi<' "ry goodies).
