PEE WEE FOOTBALL AWARDS DDWER
POUCE FIND LARGE FIELD OF MARIHUANA
Last Sunday, October 22nd. the Hundey Area Jaycees and parents of the Pee Wee Football Players joined together with fhe team for a Pot Luck Awards Dinner at the American Legion Home beginning at 4:00 p.m.
arents furnished some of the dishes for the delicious dinner but much of the meal was donated by the Mattingly's from their Anniversary Party the night before.
Following fhe meal, Jaycee Coach Shane Jordi announced the trophy winners. They were: Mark Kunde for Most Valuable Defensive Player: Dave Hansen for Most Valuable Offensive Player and Scott O'Brien for Most Improved Player. Mark and Dave were voted the best players by their teammates while Scott's award was decided by the Coaches. Each ofthe boJ^J^ivec^^tgjjhif sjj; j
Coach Jordi reviewed that days game with the parents explaining that it was the best £Vt)P the team had ever played. The team held the first place team to a score of 14-0. c b I O d

The Pee Wee Football leam will be playing one more game in two weeks at the request of the team. The Pee Wee Football team has only been in existence fot a few years under the guidance of the Huntley Jaycees. The coaches spend an average of five days a week with the team preparing for the games and playing one game. Although the team has not won all their games, the boy exhibit a strong team spirit. They have been up against some rough teams some of whom are twice as big as the Huntley Squad.
This is only one of the Jaycee programs for the community. Again this year the Jaycees will hold their Haunted House. This year due to popular demand, they will run the Haunted House for iwo days, October 30 & 31 for 6pm to 8pm.
On October 19, 1978, the results of an intense investigation conducted by Huntley Police Chief Richard Ptak and Officer Frank Alessi netted ap estimated two to three hundred pounds of Marihuana, growing in a field just outside of the Huntley Village limits. According to Chief Ptak, a concemed parent of two, who had been obtaining marihuana from a nearby source, contacted them. With this information Chief Ptak and Officer Alessi were able to locate the marihuana field which repeatedly had plants growing as high as seven feet tall. Chief Ptak praised the mother of the two juveniles and the McHenry County Sheriffs Dept. for their swift and effective assistance put forth in this investigation.
