Pins Awarded At Legion Birthday Party

Approximately 60 people attended the annual Birthday Celebration at the Ametican Legion in Huntley last Saturday night, some coming fix>m miles away such as Paul and Maiy Kay Lohneis and Carroll and Neva Robertshaw. The attendance was one of the largest in years. A delicious meal of was prepared by the Auxiliary and served by the Lioness and some of their husbands. After the
dinner Bns were presented by President Joan Melahn and' Commander Ed Hartman. A special gift was presented to Dkk Enstrom for his service and devotion to the American Legion. Didi was given a Gold Lifetime Membership Card. Quite a sutj^ise, huh, Dick?

The regular meeting of the Huntley Park District was called to order on Wednesday, March 26, 1986 by President Tures at 8:07 pm. Present were com¬ missioners Tures, Olson, Mer¬ cer, Gumett and Jurs, attomey Cowlin, LeRoy Wirsing and Betsey Warrington.
A motion to approve the minutes of the Febraary 26 meeting was made by Mrs. Mercer and seconded by Mr. Gumett. All ayes and the motion carried.
Mr. Olson moved to accept the Treasurer's report with a second by Mr. Jurs. All ayes, with the exception of Mrs. Mercer who voted nay. The motion carried.
The bills for the month were presented. Mr. Gumett moved to pay all of the bills, seconded by Mrs. Mercer. All ayes and the motion carried.
Donna Heavey entered the meeting and was introduced as the Park District's Fitness
Instractor. She presented a plan for a Fitness Center to l)e run in cooperation with Memorial Hospital. A committee was formed with Mr. Jurs and Mr. Gumett to meet with the Hospital staff.
A motion to approve all reservation requests was mady by Mr. Jurs, seconded by Mrs. Mercer. All ayes, and the motion carried.

Hydrants Flushed
It has been announced today that the hydrants in the Village of Huntley wUl be flushed Tuesday and Wednesday, April Sth and 9th. Apologies are extended for any inconvenience this may cause Hundey residents.
