Boy oh boy, are the Penguins proud birds this month. The 13th ILLINOIS ASSOC. OF SNOWMOBILE CLUBS convention was held Oct. 28-30th. It was a great weekend, just seeing all of our ' good friends and enjoying the fun and food would have been enough.
But, the lASC elected two of our members officers for 1984. George Gore of the Lake in the Hills Snow Hunters and also of The Huntley Penguins was elected Preaident. Then Jim Bond was elected Treasurer.
On Saturday nhe at the banquet, along with tecogiii^»$ the officers St Region Directors^ and King St Queen winnets wete announced. To our proud and happy surprise Re^oo 5 woni It was Pat and Lany VaaAckert Two more Penguins
who have worked hard in our dub to keep h sucessfiil. I was real happy to see Larry flnally get crowned and of course Pat is a spedal person and a queen every day ofthe year.
On Sunday moming after brunch the Snowmobile Saftey Program is recognized. All the v<riunteers who have made this program successftil are acknow¬ ledged, use also honors a Safety Student ofthe year. This student Is selected by his test scores, first in his local class the then in a "Super Test" given by the lASC Master Instructor. Dave Bond waa the winner this year. The awuditor's aimual report was distributed and discussed. A motion by Mr. Jurs, second by Mr. Tures, was to accept the report aad send copies to the govemment within five days to meet the siz month limit. AU ayes and the motion carried.
Mrs. Warrington and Mr. Wirsing entered the meeting.
After Mr. Wirsing's report, the board discussed groimds. cabin, filling ruts, roada, toUeu, and preparation for die winter.
