Local Police Officer Fred Frye was sworn in as a Huntley Lion in al Iceremony held at the Municipal Building March 24th. The installingl |of!io«r was Jim Hutchinson from Algonquin. Jim is the local IChairman.
Pictured above are Lion President Joe Schaller,  Sponsor Bob' Hight, Lbn Frye and Installing Officer Jim Hutchinson. Chief Rick Rossi was to be sworn into the club that day also but was called away unexpectedly. The Chief will be installed in at a later date.

Dance Reminder
Just a reminder that the 50 - 60's dance is this Saturday night at the American Legion in Huntley. The dance is sponsor¬ ed by the 6th grade parents and proceedes go to the 6th grade Outdoor Education Fund. A trip is planrfed for the near future, so please come, enjoy the dance and help the Outdoor Education Fund.

The time is 1 • 3 pm at the Legion. All boys interested, oome in that day and sign up. On April Mth ALL BOYS should meet at the South diamond at 1 pm. This is so that the coaches can see just how many 9, 10, 11 & 12 year olds there are, and what they can do. The teams will be selected on the 14th and after that call Jim Bond at 669-5856.

It's springtime, believe h or not, and soon everyone will be out raking leaves and cleaning up brush from their yards, then BURNING. Safety is a must. Do not leave fires unattended for sudden spring winds oould cause your fire to get out of hand.
Smoke and billowing flames oould alarm your neighbors and the Fire Department into thinking that there may be an alarm, so alert your Fire Department, or Phil Freund (the diief) that yon intend to bum debris so that a false alarm can be avoided. Of course, if your fire does get out of hand, do not hesitate to call the Fire Department at 669-2121.

The Huntley Senior Chizen Gub will bold a bake sale on Saturday, May 12th to support their sctivities for 1984. Plans are underwsy to be sure sll Mother's in the commuaity won't hsve to bske for kfother's Dsy.

The regular meeting of the Huntley Uoness waa csiled to order, by President Hartmsnn, on Msrch 21st, st 7:40 pm. The meeting opened with the club singing "When Irish Eyes Are Smiling" and the reching of the Pledge of Allegiance.
Gail Wasserstrass, in Fran's absence, read the minutes of the previous meeting. They were spproved as read.
Karen Kohley read the treasurer's report. Tbey are subject to Olive's approval upon her retura.
It was reported that the board approved a donation of $100 to the Eye Research Foundation and SlOO to a fund for a little boy from Burilngton.
Don Bower from Lion's Intematk>nal will be our guest speaker at the April meeting.
District Convention will be held at the Hyatt Regency on April 6th & 7th and the State Convention on May IBth, 19th St 20th.
The Lioness bought one Slffiit St Sound Sweepstakes Booklet for the dub.
