UONSPANACAKE BREAKFAST
On October 24th, the Huntley Lions Club will be holding their annual Pancake Breakfast at the Huntley American Legion Home. The delcioiis breaUast consists of pancakes, sausage, eggs, orange juice and coffee. The event is fun and good eating for the whole family.
he Lions Oub serves Huntley not only in matters of vision but they sponsor Boys State, a Christmas Party for Huntley children and many worthwhile community events.
Be sure to mark your calendar and attend the Pancake Breakfast on Oct. 24.

The regular meeting of the Board of Education of School District #158, Huntley Consoli¬ dated Schools, Huntley, Illinois was held in the High School building on September 23, 1982 at 7:30 p.m.
The President called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Upon roll call the following members answered present: Mrs. Besel. Mrs. Massett, Mr, Heavey, Mr. Reid, Mr. O'Brien, Mr. Pupich and Mr. Zirk. Absent:None.
All present joined in the Pledge to the Flag.
The meeting was recessed for the recognition ceremony for Elmer Harting who is retiring from fourteen years of service on October 1.
Mr. O'Brien moved Mrs. Massett 2nd to approve the minutes of the Septemtier 9 ' regular meeting as written. The motion carried 7 yeas and 0 nays.
Mr. Heavey moved Mr. O'Brien 2nd to approve the resolution allowing thee Diatrict to partidpate in the McHenry County Schools Riak Manage- Continued on Page 7
Last Thursday, the Board of Education honored Elmer Harting for 14 years of service to the Huntley School District. Mr. Harting served the school first as a custodian and then as the head Bus Mechanic. Dr. Bunt and Mr. Pupich, Sdiool Board President, tioth expressed their regret at Mr. Harting leaving the district. In all the years that he served as bus mechanic only 3 buses had to tie towed in.
The Board presented Mr. Harting widi« watch. The teachers also gave Mr^arting a gift. Following the ceremony, cake and coffee was served to frninh''neighbors, teacK'erii and board members. One cake had a picture of a school bus on it. Elmer plans to spend roost of his retirement fishing with his wife, Edna.

On October 8 and October 9, the Huntley Lions Cub will hold their Candy Day to raise funds. They will be giving away Lions Candy rolls in ezchange fbr contributions fbr their compre¬ hensive program to aid the visually handicapped and hear¬ ing impaired, together with local projects such as Christmas packages fbr needy families, eye glasses and examinations for local residents and children who cannot afford them, mobil eye testing and many more projects.
