REDSKIN VARSITY BASKETBALL TEAM WIN ST. ED'S TURKEY TOURNEY
Lad Week, the Huntley Redskin Varsity Team played ui St. Ed's Turkey Toumament in Elgbi. The .Skms fird game waa againd St. Vincent who they bed 72-31. The second game was against Mather with the SUns winning 69-56. The find game for the title was agabnt St. Ed's. It was a tough game but the Skina came thtough winning 60-48 to take the title and the trophy.

The Huntley Park District will hodl their regular meeting on December 17 instead of Decem¬ ber 24, due to the holiday.
REMINDERFROM POSTMASTER
Postmaster Richard Michel¬ sen reminded customers that for the best service this Christmas season they should use ZIP codes, place their return address in the upper left corner of the envelope and use proper postage.
"By following these suggest¬ ions," Postmaster Michelsen said, "you will be assured good mail service this holiday season."
It is important, the Huntley postmaster said that families double check envelopes and cards to be certain that proper postage is affixed. Envelopes without postage will be returned to the senders, if possible or delayed by postage-due proce¬ dures.
"When the retum address is placed on envelopes bearing holiday greetings, it also helps remind friends of one's current address, "the postmaster said.
And, if the family to whom a holiday message is sent moved more than a year ago, it cannot be forwarded. With a return address. Postmaster Michelsen said, such letters are retumed to the sender with a notation that the forwarding order has expired.

CHRISTMAS VACATION
Christmas vacation will begin on December 19 when school is dismissed at 1:30 P.M. and will resume on January S. The school offices will be open on December 22, 23 and January 2.
SUNDAY SCHOOL PAGEANT DEC. 21
The Sunday School Pageant for the Congregational Church will be Sunday, December 21. Candlelight Communion Service will climax the Christmas season on a traditional note on Dec. 24th at 11:00 P.M.

On Wednesday, December 17 at 7:30 P.M. the annual Christmas ptogram for kinder¬ garten throngh sizth grade will be held in the Grade School gym. Some highlights will be the first performance of the beginning band and the fifth and sizth grade chorus. It should be an evening of family fun entertainment complete with a visit from Santa I
On the following evening Thursday, Dec. 18 at 7:30 the High School and Jr. High bands and choruses will present a concert of Christmas music. The program will offer a variety of musicd styles from "traditional to pop". The public is invited.

The Jr. High drama club is in need of leopard- or tiger skin printed materid. Approximately two yards are needed. If you have old shirts, blouses, coats, etc. which could be used, please contact Mr. Blake or Mrs. Mowers. Plan to attend the junior high production of "The Princess and the Pea" to be presented on Tuesday, Decem¬ ber 9, 1980 at 7:30 P.M. in the grade school gym.
CHURCH BAZAAR
On December Sth, the 1st Congregational Church of Hun¬ tley will hold a Bazaar at the State Bank of Huntley from 4 to 6 p.m.
PARK DISTRICT MEETING
The regular meeting of the Huntley Park District was called to order by President Ruth d 8 o'ck>ck on Wednesday, Novem¬ ber 26, 1980. Present were Commissioners Ruth, Mercer, Borhart and Tures and Attomey Cowlin. Commissioner Weltzien was absent.
The minutes of the October 22nd meeting were read. A motion for approval was made by Mr. Tures, seconded by Mr. Ruth. All ayes and the rtwtion carried.
The Treasurer's report was given. Mr. Tures moved to accept the report, seconded by Mrs. Mercer. All commissioni^rs voted aye and the motion carried.
the bills for the month were presented. A motion to pay all bills except one was made by Mr. Borhart, seconded by Mr. Tures. All ayes; motkm carried.
A motion to deny payment of the Commonwealth Edison repair bill was made by Mr. Ruth, seconded by Mr. Borhart. Three aye votes, one pass by Mrs. Mercer and the motion carried.
The building and outdoor equipment committee gave their report. The main item of discussion was the skating rink.
A motion to purchase a 2" water pump for the skating rink was made by Mr. Ruth, seconded by Mr. Borhart. All ayes and the motion carried.
The Treasurer asked_ to transfer the savings accounts into a six month certificate of deposit. Mr. Borahrt made a motion that Mrs. Parisek transfer this money, seconded by Mr. Tures. All ayes; the motion carried.
Betsey Warrington entered the   meeting   and  gave  her
epbrt. ihe fall and winter programs were discussed.
Mrs. Mercer, and Mrs. Warrington reported on the meetings they attended at Rosemont given by the Illinois Associatk>n of Park Districts.

CONQREQATIONAL CHURCH CHRISTMAS CONCERT
The Congregationd Church Christmas Concert will be held on Sanday, December 14th at 7:30 P.M. Presenting the special program will be the combined choirs, specid gaed soloids and the Bell Ringers. Everyone in the community is invited to attend this extra¬ ordinary evening of music.

Football players receiving honors from the Woodstock Senitinel and Elgin Courier News were Lenny Allen - Honorable mention fbr offense from the Woodstock Sentinel; Adam Brunschon - All Area First Team for Defense from Woodstock Senitnel and Elgin Courier and Honorable Mention as a running back from the Woodstock Sentinel and Elgin Courier; Jim Briscoe - Honor¬ able Mention from the Wood¬ stock Sentinel; Jim Goehl - Special Mention as Running Bade from the Elgin Courier and Honorable Mention from the Woodstock Sentinel; Tony Hopp - Second Team from Elgin Courier; Bruce Lindsey - All Area Team fbr Defense from the Woodstock Sentinel and Second Team fiom the Elgin Courier.
