Absent: Mrs. Schadt, Mr. Greve and Mr. Miller. All present joined in the pledge to the flag. 1. Mrs. McDonald moved, Mr. Freeberg 2nd to approve the minutes of the March 12 regu¬ lar meeting as written. 4 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. Pictured above are two of the three state bound science fair contestents from Huntley to advance to the state competition students were required to win a first place at both the school and regional level. 2. Mrs. McDonald moved, Mr. Freeberg 2nd to approve the minutes of the March 12 executive session as written. 4 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. - 3. Mr. Bauman moved, Mr. Heavey 2nd to approve payment of the monthly agenda of bills and imprest. Education - $21,916.72; OBM - $10,581.46; Transportation - $2,045.99. Yeas: Bauman, Heavey, McDonald, Freeberg Nays: None Pass: Greve 4 yeas - 0 nays - 1 pass Motion carried. - 4. Mr. Freeberg moved, Mr. Heavey 2nd to go into executive session at 9:37p.m. for the purpose of discussing personnel. Yeas: Freeberg, Heavey, McDonald, Greve, Bauman Nays: None 5 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. The Board returned to open session at 10:44p.m. - 5. Mr. Freeberg moved, Mr. Greve 2nd that John Black be dismissed for cause and that the reading of the resolution be waived. Yeas: Freeberg, Greve, McDonald, Heavey, Bauman Nays: None 5 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. - 6. Mr. McDonald moved, Mr. Greve 2nd to approve towel service for 1987/88 from the National Towel Service. Yeas: McDonald, Greve, Heavey, Freeberg, Bauman Nays: None 5 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. - 7. Mrs. McDonald moved, Mr. Freeberg 2nd to adopt the following BOE policies: 270.06; 500.04, 540.10, 540.14. 5 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. - 8. Mr. Greve moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to approve the renewal for membership in the Illinois High School Association for the 1987/88 school year. 5 yeas - 0 nays Motion carried. 9. Mr. Freeberg moved, Mrs. McDonald 2nd to adjourn at 10:52p.m. 5 yeas - 0 nays Meeting adjourned. , These minutes subject to Board approval at next regular meeting. 50's Dance "Let the Good Times RoU" 50's Dance It's time for our annual 50's dance. On Saturday, April 25th, at the Huntley American Legion Hall, start¬ ing at 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Music will be provided by "The Dynamics." So all you Rock and Rollers start to dig out your poodle skirts, bobby socks, T-shirts, jeans and leather jackets. SO's attire is optional but the fun is certain. There will be snacks, contests and give¬ aways. So mark your calendar and save the date, for a great time is guaranteed! Mother-Daughter Banquet The men's fellowship's is hosting a mother-daughter banquet Saturday, May 9th at 6:30 p.m. More details in next weeks paper. Village Board Minutes The Regular Metting of the Village Board of Trustees of the Village of Huntley was held April 9, 1987 in the Board Room of the Village Hall and brought to order at 8:00 P.M. by President Dhamer. Present were President Dhamer, Trustees, Wicke, Berlin, Ahrens, Brown, Russ and Berlin, as well as Attor¬ ney CowUn, Village Engineer Schwegel, Police Chief Rossi and Director of Public Works Shear. The minutes of the March 12, 1987 meeting were before the Board for examination. There being no additions nor corrections, they stood ap¬ proved as presented. Financial reports were then reviewed. A motion was made by Trustee Wicke, seconded by Trustee Russ, to approve the Treasurer's Report as submit¬ ted to the Board and upon roll call, all trustees voted aye and the motion carried. The bills for current ex¬ penses were examined at length. Thereafter a motion was made by Trustee Berlin, seconded by Trustee Wicke, to authorize payment of all bills with the exception of the Valentine invoice for E. Shear in the amount of $50.00. Upon roll call, all trustees voted aye, the motion carried'and a listing of said payments is attached hereto. Next, President Dhamer called Mr. Tony Muniscalo to the table. The President ex¬ plained his and Emil Ross, Inc.'s concept plans to develop the Jackish Property, 5 1/2 acres west of Pinecrest Country Club on Algonquin Rd. He also explained no action was necessary and felt the project was very attractive. Mr. H. Jackish was present and stated he was impressed with the plan. While the property is zoned R 4 permitting 48 units, plans call for only 36 units con¬ sisting of 12 1-story town- houses and 24 2-story town- Continued on page 14 Visit the Easter Bunny April 18th the Huntley Park District will have an Easter Egg hunt for children: Pre-school - 11:00, Kindergarten thru 4th grade - 2:00. Little League City League Sign Up All boys between the ages of 9-12 who are interested in playing baseball this summer and have not signed up at school can call Chuck Sass (Traveling Team) at 669-3428 or Wayne Workowski (City-Team) at 669-3711. Lioness Caramel Corn Day Friday, May 1, 1987 has been proclaimed as Lioness Caramel Com Day in Huntley, it was announced by Mayor Dhamer. In announcing the proclamation, Mayor Dhamer noted that on that day, Lionesses will be out throughout the state covering street corners, bus and train stations, shopping malls, and other areas where the public gathers. They will be giving away bags of caramel corn and accepting donations for same in support of vision and hearing related problems. Funds raised through the event support sight and hear¬ ing services tks well as pro¬ grams directly aiding the blind and deaf. In announcing the procla¬ mation Mayor Dhamer noted the numerous contributions made by Lionesses in support of sight conservation and protection and urged that residents support the event generously. 50's Dance
