Pictured above is fhe Huntley Rescue Squads sled which is to be used in case of emergency where someone must be transported in an inexcessible area to a hospital or paramedic vehicie. Although the sled was not used in iast Wednesday's emergency, it was available in case of an accident where conventional vehicles could not assist. The sled ambulance was purchased in a joint venture by the Huntley Fire Department and the Huntley Penguin Snowmobile Club. The cost of the vehicle was estimated between $800 and $1,000.
Last Wednesday, it could have been used near Richmond to transfer a snowmobiler who broke his leg in an inexcessible area.
Pictured above are members of the Penguin Snowmobile Ciub and the Huntley Fire Department behind the new rescue vehicle.

Huntley Superintendent o Public Works, Percy Swanso and Streets Committe Chairmai Paul Mercer have advised tha the huge piles of snow at th end of residential driveway cannot be removed. If you hav this problem, they sugges backing into your driveway il possible. This way you pull into the street and increase yout visibility.
All motorists driving on residential streets should be aleri for cars entering the street from these "Blind" spots.
EMERGENCY SERVICE NUMBER 338-6400
It was announced today that i an Emergency Service Number has been set up for persons needing groceries or medical attention. The number is 338- 6400. Any resident needing ^ assistance may call this number and help will be sent.
McHENRY COUNTY DISASTER AREA
Richard 0. Klemm, Chairman of the McHenry County Board, was advised on Thursday, January 18, 1979 that the Fanners Home Administration has declared McHenry County, along with twenty-two (22) other, counties, a disaster area. This declaration will allow farmers in McHenry County to apply to the Farmers Home Administration for low interest, 5%, loans for any snow related emergencies.
The nearest Farmers Home Administration office is in Belvidere, 11., any questions shoald be directed to Mr. Robert Becher, local administra¬ tor, at 815-544-3567.
SHERIFF TYRRELL RESIGNS
At a press conference last Monday. Sheriff Art Tyrrell announced his resignation from office. Sheriff Tyrrell is current¬ ly serving his third term as the only Democrat in a major office. He has recommended Henry Nulle, his chief deputy as his successor. Mr. Nulle has beer with the department for twent; years. He is a Republican.
The State law places Countj Coroner, Theron Ehora, in th< office until a permanent succes sor is named by County Board.
Sheriff Tyrrell has accepted a position with Crown Industries as head of safety for tbe gravel mining operation. He will assume his new position in February. He gave his reason for changing his position as a substantial raise in salary.
PARENTS OF SNOWiy^OBILERS MAY BE FINED
Parents of snowmobile opera¬ tors under the age of 16 without a drivers'license are reminded that such operators must be accompanied by a person 18 years or older with a drivers license. Violations committed by such operators will be charged lo the parents driving record as a moving violation upon conviction.

The regular meeting of die Board of Education of Scbool District #158, Huntley ConsoU- dated Schools, Huntley, Illinois, was held io the High School building on January 11, 1979 at 7:30 P.M.
The Preaideat called the meeting to order at 7:30 P.M. Upon roll call the following membera emeereted preaent: Mrs. Pawl, Mr. Spears, Mr. Grismer, Mr. Pupich, Mr. Brettsdmeider, Mra. Livingston and Mr. Zirk.
At this time all present joined in the Pledge to the Flag.
1. Mr. Brettschneider moved Mrs. Pawl 2nd to approve the minutes of the Dec. 19 regular meeting as written. 7 Yeas, motion carried.
2. Mr. Pupich moved to table Item #30 on the agenda of monthly bills Thc Huntley Farmside Annual Financial statement publication in the amount of $310.20. Mrs. Pawl 2nd the motion. Yeas: Pupich, Pawl, Brettschneider, Spears and Zirk. Nays: Grismer. Pass: Livingston. 5 Yeas^ 1 Nay, 1 Pass, Amendment carried.
3. Mrs. Pawl moved Mr. Spears 2nd to approve payment of the monthly bills deleting Item #30. 7 Yeas, motion carried.
4. Mr. Brettschneider moved Mr. Zirk 2nd to reimburse the Imprest Fund in the amotint of $656.17. 7 Yeas, motion carried.
5. Mr. Pupich'moved Mr. Grismer 2nd to approve resolu¬ tion of the Energy Crisis Plan for Winter 1978-79. Nay: Mrs, Pawl. 6 Yeas, 1 Nay, Motion carried.
