There has been an alarming increase in the numbers of missing juveniles over the past few years. Positive identification has helped to locate many of those missing persons. The Huntley Pblice Dept.. Huntley School Administration and the Grafton Homemakers are making the opportunity available for all school children in the Huntley area to be fingerprinted on September 22 at the Elementary School. Parents must sign a release form and all records will be given to the parents. The iwlice Grafton Township Board Minutes The Grafton Township meeting was held Thursday night at the Township building. The Assessor reported that more than 88 parcels have been reclassiiied by her office for 1983. The reclassification is done by the Assessor if it is determined that the property is not owner occupied. The amount of taxes for the Township realiied by the changes will be approximately $17,000. More than 3,000 Continued on Page 2 will not keep any rea)rds. The fingerprints are the responsibil¬ ity of the parents or guardian of the child. The consent form was printed in the school newsletter. If you did not receive a copy, please call the school office. Consent forms signed by the parents or guardians must be retumed to the school by Sept. 15. Officers of the Hunfley Police Dept. will do the fingerprinting and records will be checked by the Grafton Homemakers and sent directly to the parents. The School Administrators will set up the scheduled times for each grade. We hope everyone will take advantage of the program offered. . Huntley Senior Citizens Dinner-Dance TICKETS AVAILABLE fOR COMMUNITY DINNER DANCE IN HUNTLEY The annual Community Dinner-Dance sponsored by the Huntley Senior Citizens will be held at the Legion on Sunday, October 9th beginning at 5:30 p.m. A buffet dinner will be served by the Auxiliary followed by dancing to Ralph & Eddie's band. Huntley Park District Fall Program BATON LESSONS Huntley Park District is again sponsoring Baton Lessons The 6 weeks series will begin on Mon. Sept. 19 and continue through Mon. Oct. 31. Begin¬ ners will attend from 3:30 - 4:30 and the advanced students will attend from 4:30 - 5:30. The classes are held af the 1st Congregational Church in Hunt¬ ley. The fee for beginners is: $13.50. which includes the cost of the baton ($17.00 for non-residents of the Park Dist.) The fee for fhe advanced students who have already purchased their batons is: $8.00 ($10.00 for non-residents.) To register for fhe class, call Hunfley park District at 669-3180 during regular office hours of Mon. or Wed. 9:00 - 12:00 or Sat. 10:00 - 12:00. The date has been set for October « with two reserved seat servings at 5:30 and 8:00 p.m. The family style dinner, consisting of spaghetti, .salad, rolls, drink and dessert, will be directed by Mrs. Norma Lindsey, accompanied by fellow church members. TTie variety show "What's in a Name " will be presented by the Chancel Choir, under the direction of Miss Luann Lamz and accompanied by Mrs. Barbara Faga. They aje rehearsing many of your favorite tunes such as "Daisy". "Lucille". "Maggie". ""Run Around Sue". ""Old McDonald" "Oh. Johnny", and "Alexan¬ ders Ragtime Band", just to name a few. The reserved seat tickets will go on sale Saturdav. September 24 from 10:30-12:00 noon in the church's social hall. They will sell for $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for children under 12. Huntley Car Wash Saturday Have the grime and grit of summer washed off your car by ooming to the Huntley Car Wash, located just outside the new library, the car wash costs $2.50 per car. including window cleaiiing and vaccuming. 8th. graders, frying to eam money for a graduation trip, will wash and dry any vehicle including trucks and vans. Coffee, hof chocolate and donuts will be served. . Contin ued on Page 2 PTO Meeting Minutes The meeting was called to order at 7:31. August 30. 1983, by President Donna Heavey. Donna Heavey gave fhe following treasurer's report; Savings Account. $1,628.97; CTiecking Account. $732.04; Tolal. $2,361.01. GUEST SPEAKER: Mr. Dave Booth joined the meeting to discuss the Parent Student handbook. Mr. Booth pointed ouf some of the changes and new ideas for the coming year. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Linda Hoffman and Sharon Cook reported the teachers luncheon was a success. Shirley Williams will chair the Picture Lady program this year. A committee was formed for proper procedures in tranifer- ing committee chairmen. Donna Heavey stated that a chairman was needed for Meet the Teachers, the candidates, and the administrators nights. Betty Conley will chair these committees. If was decided that at meet the teachers, they will meet in the gym first - fhen on to the class rooms. OLD BUSINESS: Raffle; There was some discussion on fhe raffle. Don King and Betty Conley will be visiting the business in our area. Christmas Cards: There will be a Christmas Card Contest. Three cards will be chosen. One from K-5. 6-8 and 9-12. A ten dollar gift certificate will be given to each of the winners. Donna Heavey motioned to expand fhe Xmas Card Contest to include three winners to be chosen for the verse or saying inside thc cards. Betty Conley seconded fhe motion. Motion carried. The same prizes will be awarded the three winners. PROGRAMS: The program on lice is still on the sdiedule, and a lecture on nutrition is also in discussion.
