In Tuesdays election the above gentlemen were elected to the Huntley Village and Park Boards. The vote count was as follows: for Park Board, Graham Knott received
196 votes, Tom Jurs had 206 to make him the top vote winner and Dan Woodcock had eon with 199. In the Village Board race thevote count came up this way. Art wicke 132,

referendum up for the McHenry County College. The referendum has been on the previous two ballots and defeated but, this time it passed and by a good margin
too. the tally with all precincts reporting was 11,585 to 8,821. The passing of this referendum gives the college a desperatly needed revenue increase.
Drainage  District  Minutes-
There was so much going on last month that my cup run¬ neth over. The Patriotic Con¬ ference at the Bismarck, was very uplifting and good for the soul. Everyone should take time out to experience the play back in time of the forming of this great Nation, and this great organization thats been here for 67 years. That's a long time for an organization to survive, so you know its got to be good. • One person in our Unit has served it for 60 of those years, so just ask her, she'll fill you in on what you don't know about our Unit in Huntley. She is May Chesak. I think everyone knows May, I've only known her a short time, and in that short time she has shown me her willingness to take on any task, large or small, with a smile and a I can do it attitude. We honored May at our Birthday dinner with a life time membership, a 60 year membership award, a small plant and rejuvenating cream, to keep her going for another 60 years. May, we love you.
Something must be good about an organization that can keep one as May inter¬ ested enough to hold a 60 year membership, do you know
what it is? It must be   • because at our Post a lot of organizations gather, the Lions, Snowmobilers etc. It is open to public functions. Everyone says you can always get a good meal at the Huntley Post, that's also be¬ cause we have such a devoted Ways and Means group who do their best to provide us with the good food that brings in the moneys to keep our Post in good repair and help pay
the bills. There are a lot of bills, things keep breaking and have to be replaced. We the Auxiliary presented the Legionaires a check for $3000.00 to help with the expenses at the Birthday dinner, but that's what we are supposed to do. It says so in the Preamble, to con¬ tribute to the aims and accomplishments of the American Legion. There are many aims and a lot of accomplishments, just ask May. Are you doing your share? If you use the building for your aims and accomplishments, are you giving your share to lighten the burden, the upkeep? Figure it out, and do more, we need this organization in this area and we need your support.

Saturday twelve junior high students competed at regional Illinois Junior Academy of Science Competition in DeKalb. Over 600 projects were judged into first, second and third place categories. The twelve Huntley students earned 9 first places and three second places. This is an excellent showing.
Students who earned a second place are 8th grader Leigh Ann Ahrens, "The Effects of Acid Rain on Lime¬ stone"; Sth grader Mike Mansfield, "Acid Rain on Metals"; and 7th grader Heather Brettman, "Memorizing Madness".
Students who earned first place were 8th graders Julie Ottley, "Rotational Dynamics"; Carie Bein, "Air¬ flow vs. Time"; Mary Ann Miller, "Hear me out"; and Jim Cook, "The Effects of Temperature on Viscostiy"^, Seventh graders earning first place are Cathy Darling, "The Strongest Glue"; Brad Ball, "Solar Water Heating"; P. J. Repmarm, "Probability With Dice"; Matt Ewertowski, "To Build a Bridge to Hold the Fridge", and Tim Heavey, "Assistance of Resistance". Four students have been selected to continue

Minutes from March 2,1987 Rutland-Grafton Drainage District
Present: Betsy Hartmann, Chairperson, Edward Hartmann and Charlie Kreutzer.
Called to order at 3:15 p.m.
The minutes from Jan. 12th were read and a correction was made to read that the cost of the required tree re¬ moval is not part of the cost estimate.
Treasurers Report: A motion was made by Betsy to waive the report. It was seconded by Ed Hartmann.
Old Business: Chairperson Betsy Hartmann gave a report on the informal meetings held Feb. 16th and 18th. Mrs. Hoffman and Mrs. Ernesti were present atthe Feb. 16th meeting. Mr. and Mrs. Caranci and Mrs. C. Kreutzer were present at the Feb. 18th meeting.
Engineer Report: A cleaned out ditch will not increase the volume of water but the water will flow at a faster rate. There is enough fall in the ditch to handle the flow of water.
A motion was made by Betsy Hartmann and seconded by Charlie Kreutzer to file with the court the preliminary engineer report on the main
ditch and the five laterals starting at the CNW RR bridge to the east end of the ditch by Huntley Road.
A discussion was held on how to assess the landowners. The U of I method is to be tried.
A motion was made by Betsy Hartmann and seconded by Ed Hartmann to prepare annexa¬ tion papers for additional land to the District. Carried.
The meeting adjourned at 5 p.m. on a motion by Betsy Hartmann, seconded by Ed Hartmann.
The next meeting will be held Mon., April 13th at 7 p.m.
